Harbor Sweets — Restaurant in Beverly

I'm disappointed to share my experience at Harbor Sweets. Although the shop has mostly positive reviews, it is clear they do not treat all customers the same.

Upon entering, my boyfriend and I greeted the host at the desk and were ignored. However, she stared at us and continued to watch us as we went through the store. I noticed that she greeted all the customers that came in after us.

The situation worsened when we were looking at chocolates next to the counter. A man and his family arrived and started talking to another staff member about ice cream flavors. After that staff member went into the back to get them their ice cream, the man turned and asked me if he had cut me in line. While I was mid sentence, the host at the counter cut me off and said "No, they're just looking. Don't worry about them," in a dismissive tone. She said this while avoiding eye contact with me, and after saying that looked me up and down extensively. If you have ever been singled out before, you probably know the kind of stare we were given.

Feeling discriminated against, we chose to immediately leave the shop without making a purchase. This experience was deeply disappointing and I hope Harbor Sweets takes this feedback seriously to ensure a welcoming environment...

Recently I stopped by the Harbor Sweets location in Beverly. I am very familiar with the Salem location but had not yet visited Beverly’s location. The offering of ice cream, now part of the divine selection of sweets, caught my attention. And what a treat! I was greeted by Aurora, who was charming and so happy to help me as I studied the selection of ice cream flavors. While there are a number of flavors from which to choose, I ended up with my traditional favorites, Sweep Sloops and Marblehead Mints- YUMMY! At Harbor Sweets in Rantoul Street I was met with a warm gracious host Danielle and a very approachable friendly knowledgeable verse assistant both dedicated attentive taking pride of their standards with excellent customer service coupled with interesting informative facts details availability of their delicious top notch fine quality candies, ice cream, and more of their other products. I highly recommend stopping by visiting sampling and purchasing their various assortment of wonderful goods . Always something for everyone even the family pets . I personally would definitely go back...
