Toscana Bar Italiano — Restaurant in Beverly

My girlfriend and I have been looking forward to trying Toscana’s since hearing about it a month or so ago. We invited my son and his new wife to join Looki at the menu online ahead of the night of our reservation, I thought about the Kona ribeye steak and the chicken parmigiana, as well as the arugula beet salad. I thought the beer menu was basic, but okay; however, the chocolate lava cake sounded like an absolute must!

The disappointment began almost immediately when I asked what the rotating local brewery draughts were. Our waiter responded that there were no draughts available, due to a problem with the restaurant’s CO2 pressure system. As I can’t drink wine because of my acid reflux, I was out of luck - unless I wanted a Bud or Coor’s. No thank you.

I decided on the Kona ribeye. Big mistake; it was incredibly fatty and tough. My fault for going to an Italian restaurant and not getting a pasta dish. The arugula beet salad was good, but it came at the exact same time as my ribeye!

Well, at least I had the chocolate lava cake to look forward to. Wrong!! I was the only one in our group interested in desert, but when I indicated I wanted the chocolate lava cake, our waiter told me they sold the last one 40 minutes before. I thought about the chocolate mousse cake, but decided to pass. Finally, my check had two extra espresso martinis on the check! Overall, very disappointing - which makes me wonder why I gave a 3...

Never Again.... Horrendous Service!!!!Service was terrible Took 30 minutes to remove our appetizer plates which were empty... We specifically asked for bread... Which never came to our table... I ordered an espresso martini... Which never came... Odd thing is that my Martini was on the waitresses tray adjacent to our table... The waitress never delivered my Martini...what happened was she chit chatted with the table next to us becoming aloof of thinking to deliver my drink... And when we mentioned it to our Waiter...he told the waitress that she had our drink... 30 minutes later... I dont want the drink.... Water glasses... Filled only once!! Our waiter was barely at our table asking how it was... This was supposed to be a nice night out with our family..and end if summer celebration .. Instead it turned into an ugly unpleasant night... We do so much business with your restaurant... We've dined in your place... And we do alot of take out business too... We didnt ask for much of anything... And we got nothing... One more thing... The young lady who is the hostess.. She wasnt very friendly at all... No smile..Not friendly.... Very Dissapointed David...

I like this place and it’s close to my house but unfortunately I’m probably not gonna get it anymore because of the people who work here. There’s an older lady who is really nice when you get takeout but tonight I got DoorDash and I called them initially to ask them to include bread and oil because sometimes they forget to put the oil in and when my order came, there was no bread or oil which is unusual so my fiance called and they basically accused him of lying because they said that they always add it, so it HAS to be in the bag which it wasn’t. We got fettuccine Alfredo, and that was the one and only thing in the bag. It’s just not good customer service. My fiancé did an additional order on DoorDash and spent extra money just to get this bread, so why would we do that if we’re lying? We didn’t ask for anything for free he just called again and said hi I placed another order on DoorDash last time there was no bread. Do you think you could add it this time. To basically accuse him of lying was completely unexpected. moral of the story there are nice people who work here but some of the people are just snobby and don’t know how to talk...
