Confession: I am a New Yorker. And the bagels sold in Billings, and most other places in the Midwest, West and South are disappointing -- more often like hamburger buns than real bagels. Well, now there is a Billings store, The Sourdough Bagel at 219 N 29th in Billings, that sells wonderful bagels. That means an inside that is chewy but not too doughy. Not carbon copies of traditional NYC bagels. As the store’s name implies, owner Bonny Perkins and her crew use a sourdough recipe that I love and reminds me of the finest bakeries in San Francisco. I’m told sourdough is also healthier than traditional yeast dough, and that helps relieve guilt over the calorie count of all bread, including bagels. The accompaniments, from flavored cream cheeses such as Red Onion & Chive and Rosemary Honey, are delicious. And the smoked salmon reminds me of some of the best lox I enjoyed back in my NYC days. Best of all Bonny and her staff at the Sourdough Bagel will have you laughing, even if you are getting there sleepy eyed at the store’s 7:30 am opening, Bonny and her crew are also some of the nicest people I’ve met during my two years in Billings. I always leave the shop feeling happy – and the bagels are much cheaper...

Still one if not thee best place in town to get a bagel. Friendly people. Quality service and yummy bagels. 😋 Please give it a try. I recently had the pleasure of visiting this local bagel shop, and I can't say enough good things about my experience! The quality of their work is truly outstanding, and you can tell that they take great pride in what they do. The atmosphere is incredibly welcoming and friendly, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.

I was especially impressed with how efficiently they managed their time and how delicious the food was. Everything was completed promptly without sacrificing quality. It's clear that this team values their customers and strives to provide the best service possible.

I highly recommend these folk to anyone looking for top-notch service in a great environment. I will definitely be coming back for my future entertainment and...

I think this may be the only place to get bagels in town right now. Sells out quickly so hard to get. Ordered the lox bagel with light cream cheese however it was still easily 1/2 inch of cream cheese on each side so stuck scraping it off with my finger in the car. Do people really like that, and with all capers just in one big clump? Pet peeve would be eating the hole of a bagel but it’s filled with cream cheese. My buttered bagel with cold with clumps of unmelted butter. Hmm. Not a pleasant experience. Good prices. I would probably recommend buying dry bagels to...

This is a super place to get grab and go bagels made fresh daily. Get them plain or with cream cheese & butter. Cold drinks, coffee and tea available. They also make breakfast bagel sandwiches. Get there early because they run out of bagels fast! Staff is friendly & helpful. The place is small so it's easy to drive right past it.
