Montana Brewing Company — Restaurant in Billings

I hate posting one star reviews but this was just a terrible experience. The restaurant itself (and bar) was extremely loud. You feel like you're yelling at the people across from you. The food was akin to frozen food you could find in a pre-packaged frozen meal. I had the teriyaki chicken bowl which, granted, I know this is a pub and I was not expecting something fancy. What I received was 4 pieces of cold, salty chicken on a stick with over cooked rice, mushy vegetables, and all covered in a overly sweet teriyaki sauce. My girlfriend had a flatbread which can only be described as a flavourless frozen pizza with stale chives on top. This normally would not have bothered me this much but when going to the restroom my girlfriend and I commented to each other that we were not happy with our meals. When I was in the middle of using the restroom a man approached me and said he was listening to us and asked what we had. I told him, and said I probably should have just went with the fish and chips which I said we're probably better but then he goes on to mock me, informs me he's close friends with the owner, and assures me (through a string of expletives) that he will make sure my "terrible opinion will be passed on". Like I said I don't normally review things like this, but it was just such a terrible experience I felt I needed to add...

This was my first visit to Montana brewing Company. I recently dined here and wanted to share some feedback on my experience. I had heard positive things about the brewery and was looking forward to trying both your brews and the food.

While I enjoyed the atmosphere and found your beer selection impressive, I was unfortunately disappointed with the quality of the food. The dishes we ordered were mediocre at best, lacking the flavor and freshness we had anticipated. Given the reputation of your brewery, I had higher expectations for the dining experience.

I had the nachos which were pedestrian and that’s giving a lot. I could do nachos much better at my own house. I had the gluten-free pizza and of course gluten-free always denotes questionable flavor but if you can’t do it right, just don’t do it.

The service was the bright spot of the day. I don’t remember her name, tall blonde. She was attentive and came by several times asking If we needed anything, additionally this was my first time visit and probably my only visit.

I noticed you had hundreds of reviews and most positive I believe 4.6 was your average rating. They must come for the brews, not the food. I would barely give you 2.5 on the food.

I believe there is potential for improvement, and I hope you take this feedback...

Don't go here for anything more than drinks and apps. The kitchen doesn't seem capable of doing anything more. The Huckleberry Mules were good and came relatively quickly though, but our dinner was a total mess. We ordered lasagna, a wrap, a salad and a burger. After about 10 min we were informed they were out of lasagna. So we picked something else. No big deal. Or so we thought. About 45 min later some very confused servers came to us asking if we ordered beef tacos and other things. Nope not our order. However the item we replaced the lasagna with was there. After they found the table with all the other items they came back and gave us the sandwich. But the other 3 items were nowhere in site. How did we get the item that replaced the lasagna but none of the original order? About 40 min later still nothing. We had to go after over 90min of waiting. They get credit for picking up the tab for our order and drinks and did manage to hand us a to go bag with the other items literally as we were walking out the door. I will refrain from reviewing the food itself as we really couldn't tell if the quality would have been better if the items would...
