We recently hosted a large dinner event at Stacked | A Montana Grill in Billings, and I cannot say enough great things about the experience. We had a group of nearly 60 people visiting from Florida for a conference, and from the moment I contacted Stephen, the owner, everything was handled with professionalism and care.
Stephen was incredibly accommodating, assuring me they could handle our group — and they absolutely delivered. When we arrived on June 30th, everything was ready. The staff had clearly prepared well, and the entire evening went smoothly.
The restaurant was spotless, including the restrooms, and the atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed — perfect for our group. But what stood out most was the exceptional food and service. Everyone in our group raved about the meals — fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. I personally thought the food was FANTASTIC, and the service was prompt, friendly, and attentive all night.
In fact, many from our group returned another day just to enjoy desserts — which were just as incredible as the entrees!
We’ve coordinated many group dinners across the country, and this was hands down one of the best experiences we’ve had. I highly recommend The Stacked to anyone visiting the area, whether you're dining solo or with a large group.
Thank you to Stephen and the entire team for making it such a...
Read moreOn September 20, 2023 at 7:00 PM we called to inquire if they could handle a party of 12 on Saturday evening for dinner. The hostess had to go ask somebody if they could handle that party. She came back and said yes they can handle 12 but that would be the most. We said we would call back in a few minutes when we had a firm headcount. We called back in less than five minutes talked to a female manager, who said that the information that we were given wasn’t accurate, that they couldn’t handle a party of 12. They have one table in the back of the dining room that will handle 12 but they wouldn’t make a reservation for it. If we wanted to walk in and take our chances of putting three tables together, we were welcome to do that. We challenged her with what the hostess had said less than five minutes ago and she said well she must not have been aware of the new policy that the owner and her had recently put into place. That’s strange because the hostess went to talk to somebody, and came back with her answer. I can’t believe that they would turn down a party of 12, and then abruptly and rudely hang up on us. Unbelievable!! BUSINESS MUST BE GREAT IN DOWNTOWN BILLINGS MONTANA!! I wouldn’t go there now if I had a free gift card. If I was the owner, I’d find a manager with more refined...
Read moreIt was an awkward start: the host gestured to us as we walked in and said he would follow us. To where? The restaurant was mostly full, so we kind of looked at each other and sat at the bar. He left us menus and with a feeling of not being very welcome.
The waitress at the bar was much friendlier, took our beer order and then came back for the food order. My wife and I each ordered our burgers medium rare. When they arrived over 30 minutes later they were both well done, with spots of medium well - very unevenly cooked. It was a shame, because the preparation was good, but a dry, overdone burger is not. Normally I would speak up, but it took so long to get the first order, I didn't want to wait.
Also, the parmesan fries were a little much. The serving was plentiful, but by the end, the taste was overpowering.
Looking at the rest of the menu, I had commented that the steaks looked interesting, but when we finished the meal, I told my wife I wouldn't order a $30 steak if they can't cook a $15 burger right. I would try them one more time before writing them off.
Also, they need a better beer selection. Too much overlap in...
