This was my first time visiting this establishment having recently moved to Biloxi, MS. My girlfriend was craving their daily lunch special which today was the Seafood Platter, so I paid them a visit. This establishment is connected to Quality Poultry & Seafood with plenty of parking in the front, and more on the side. Walking in on the diner side I was immediately greeted by the amazing aromas coming from the kitchen. They have a few tables inside and a covered patio area outside if one prefers to enjoy the beauty of the day. After a quick scan of the menu I quickly settled on a bowl of Shrimp Étouffée as I have never experienced an Étouffée before, and it came highly recommended. The cashier whom took my order was very polite and friendly and recommend I take a seat at a table while waiting, and they would bring my food to me when ready. During the drive home I was overcome by the delicious aromas coming from my to-go bags, and became super excited to get home and dig in. The first spoonful of the Shrimp Étouffée immediately coated my mouth and tongue with such an exquisite blend of flavor and spice, that I immediately forgot that there was a bed of rice at the bottom of my bowl, and almost consumed the entire dish before remembering to mix it in. If you're sensitive to spicy foods like I am then be warned that this dish packs some heat. However, the amazing blend of flavors from the celery, bell peppers, onions, and shrimp was so divine that both my mind and stomach agreed it was worth it!! If you're visiting Biloxi or have recently moved here like I have, I highly recommend giving this location a visit as you will not be...
Read moreWe have aleays had good food here, but this time it sure fell short! We ordered the fried seafood meal, which included fish, shrimp, oysters (gave those to my husband, cuz I just can't eat them!) along with a crab ball, gumbo, fries and hush puppies, and even a dessert. It was an enormous amount of food. Unfortunately, I couldn't eat much of it, as everything was greasy, other than the gumbo and dessert. It tasted as if it had been held under the heat lamp too long. And, while I love salt, everything was so overloaded! The crab ball was so salty, I took one bite and had enough. My husband grew up having to ckean his plate, so he managed to eat most of his. Not me--other than the shrimp, I tossed lunch...
Read moreI judge the gumbo at any given restaurant by whether or not I would order it again the next time I visit. I would rate the gumbo today as middle of the road. The roux was not burnt which is great and puts them ahead of many places. Unfortunately, the gumbo was very bland and the okra was mush. There was only one slice of sausage in the bowl and very small pieces of what I am guessing was chicken. The texture of the shrimp was on point, but the shrimp was gritty. Even still, the gumbo was ok if you're not expecting it like Momma cooks it. The service was great and the staff friendly. So would I order it again? I would probably give them another shot before making that...
