We had breakfast this morning and it’s usually an ok experience. There is always a crowd and your wait is never that long and it wasn’t today. The hostess was very efficient and got everyone seated quickly. Our concern was the waitress. She didn’t seem focus. She came to take our order in a reasonable time but after that it was all downhill. We never got water nor were we asked if we wanted water. It was two of us. I had the All American and he had a bowl of grits & a pecan waffle. He got his waffle but it was 5-10 minutes before my waffle appeared. And then about 10 minutes later my bacon appeared. Well, as I waited, for the rest of my meal, she had several conversations with a couple next to us, brought them coffee, brought them water and continued her conversation. She then came back over to work the cashier. Never coming to check if we needed anything or to the problem with the rest of my meal. So finally, I stopped her and asked about the rest of my meal, “ oh, I just asked about that”, and kept moving. Finally she brings my meal and it looked like someone had thrown it together. I didn’t realize that my partner had other a bowl of grits and his looked like mine. At this point, I am am done, so I asked for our bill and she asked “are you not going to eat”, “ no, it took to long and it doesn’t look good”. Do you want a take out no. So she goes to apologize to the couple next to us about the delay of their food. Another service we never received and then she compelled to tell me this is what you get on Saturday because it’s so busy. Bad service and disinterested waitress is a not an expectation just because you are busy. She asked asked if I wanted a takeout. Why would I want to take the meal out, if it wasn’t pleasing enough to eat, right there. Customer service is your job , even it’s a crowd. And if you don’t have the right attitude or personality, you don’t need to be at...

Read moreI gave this particular Waffle House 2 stars due to the fact that my daughter's order wasn't hot. When she brought it to the attention of the waitress, the waitress said, "Well, I don't have a microwave. Would you like to order another side?"
In essence instead of the waitress offering to take the food back to the grill to get reheated, she was attempting to sell us more food rather than reheating the food or offering to replace the food with newly prepared food.
The waitress left without resolving the issue. My daughter was taken aback. When the waitress returned again, I asked her "Since my daughter mentioned that the food wasn't hot, couldn't you all just prepare the order over again and just bring it to her immediately from the grill instead of making us purchase more food based on the mistake that you all made?" Reluctantly, with an air of frustration, the waitress picked up the plate of food and answered, "I can replace it."
Proper customer service isn't hard to figure out. No one goes to the Waffle House to eat cold eggs, cold grits, or cold toast but in the initial moments of confronting the waitress, she...
