Cannella Gelato — Restaurant in Birmingham

This place was wonderful! We had passed by multiple times and said we wanted to go, but I am so glad we finally did. The gelato was incredible- akin to many we’ve had in Europe. Wonderful flavors and service. The owner, Mike, was extremely friendly. I had the lemon lavender honey goat cheese. My wife had the somoa (Girl Scout cookie), and my mom had the white coffee. I also tried the white chocolate raspberry and lemon biscotti. It was difficult to choose a flavor because they were all so good! Definitely give this...

I showed up at this place quarter till one. I waited for 15 minutes. The girl opening was late. And then told me that nothing was heated up before because she was late and that the point of sale wasn't working I didn't have very much time which is why I was first in line. But I wound up getting nothing. If it were me and I was her I would've offered a free scoop of ice cream or at least a small sample. Slightly...

The gelato is very good and the coffee is decent. The service wasn't fantastic. The two cashiers taking orders were much more interested in their phones and private conversation than engaging customers. That resulted in them claiming they knew how to make a dry cappuccino, confirming they understood not to fill the cup up with milk, and then doing that anyway. We'll probably come back for the cool gelato...
