CAVA — Restaurant in Birmingham

Excited to see a familiar restaurant in the area . Unfortunately, the service here was so bad, myself and the other customers in line nearly walked out .

The two young girls working there decided to take a break, while the customer line was long, by feeding themselves the food . What's worse, is neither one washes their hands after doing so. They felt changing their gloves was sufficient. When both employees were questioned about this and made aware of the impact of their behavior on customers, they became attitudinal. No apology offered. Just snickering and, oh yes, an increase in the fees . The shorter chunckier girl (female Latina .... The other was a thin African American girl ) couldn't even remember to place the paid for pita in the bag. It had to be requested.

There is so much more to the experience that wasn't pleasant. Therefore, this is NOT a location I recommend. Go to the nearby Chipotle, Panda Express, or other restaurants in the area . You'll appreciate the service and quality of food better . No scraping food from the bottom of the pot and serving it when fresh food (refused) was available .

Additional : This location is in the UAB area. It is frequented by students as well as travelers staying in nearby hotels . It is also adjacent to a Publix market, Chipotle, Panda Express, and Outback steak restaurant. With other restaurants such as Chick Fila nearby .

Came here for the opening today and I was blown away. First off, great customer service! The boss lady who's probably the manager makes sure that her employees take care of everyone properly and provide top notch customer service! Just the way they welcome you as soon as you step into the restaurant would make anybody feel obligated to stay and order something. But, fear not, because the food is absolutely delicious with plenty of flavors to customize and choose from! I did not expect a fast food place to have this many varieties and they're all completely fresh too!

They aren't shy about the quantity either. They will ensure that you leave their restaurant with a full tummy by overloading your pita or bowl to the fullest! They have more varieties of drinks than you'd normally expect for a fast food place too. They have the usual soda machines, and some other fresh drinks that are absolutely delicious. I tried the Lavender and Mint Lime drinks and I loved both of them! Only recommendation would be to put some cheap mints in a bowl at the front so that customers can pop one after eating all the delicious flavors that they have to offer!

If they can keep up this quality and customer service year round, they are a must visit spot on 20th Street South! Make sure to not miss out on their great food and...

Horrible!! I went to this CAVA (Homewood, AL) for the first time to purchase dinner for a family who just had a baby. When I went in, there were several people waiting for food, one guy was waiting to order, but decided to leave after waiting for his order to be taken. I'm up next, but no one even acknowledged me. Finally after about 15-20 minutes of standing there, hoping someone would take my order, the girl behind the counter nonchalantly asked me "do you want to place an order"? I told her what I wanted and right away she started telling me what they didn't have in stock. I asked if there was another CAVA nearby, she told me and I went there (Birmingham, AL downtown). I placed my order and was out the door in less time than it took at the first CAVA when I was just waiting to order. I've never tasted the food, as my order was for a family but if I ever go back to finally try the food, I know which location...
