Panda Express — Restaurant in Birmingham

I visited Panda Express for the first time Saturday September 8th. I was disappointed with the chicken orange. The chicken was extremely dry and had no flavor. The rice was dry and had chunks of rice stuck together throughout the bowl. I asked for some teriyaki sauce from a skillet on the serving table and was told they couldn’t because this would be cross contamination. That was fine however, soy sauce wouldn’t help with the dryness and that was all I was offered. I wanted to try one meat before making my decision and was told they didn’t give samples. This was the first time a Chinese establishment didn’t allow samples. They normally give you a piece of meat on a toothpick so you can decide if you like the meat choice or not. I can say my mother enjoyed the chicken egg roll. I didn’t take any pictures before throwing the uneaten orange chicken bowl in the trash. I wish I had so everyone could see the food. Had an interesting experience at Hardee's in Homewood. Lady was weirdly aggressive. Wasn't sure if she was having a bad day but it was not appropriate behavior when dealing with the public. My tots were dumped over inside bag. Explains why the bag was greasy. She balled up the bag and aggressively handed it to me. It was just odd. Never dealt with that type of personality in the food industry. Charged me for a coffee that I didn't order. Tried convince me that i was gtting a better deal. After my husband and I had a bad experience at the 280 location we had all but sworn off Panda Express (manager was so verbally and publicly abusive to her staff, my husband I left without finishing our food). Regardless I wanted Panda today, but was afraid to get caught in lunch hour traffic. I took a chance, parking was a breeze, and Alyxandra had my food ready in a snap! She was the sweetest most helpful, most professional person I have encountered at any Panda location. When I got back to my desk 20 minutes later, my food was pipping hot!
