Planthropie: Plant based Dessert & Cheese Bar — Restaurant in Birmingham

If I could give negative stars I would. One of the most horrifying experiences I have ever had. I think if people saw the behind the scenes they would never eat here again! When I tried addressing my experience with the owners, they were not only rude, called me a liar. After they both husband and wife owner called me about my experience, didn't apologize but immediately came at me about my experience and how this was never a possibility here.

When I walked in the host was rude and told me there were no public bathrooms. I apparently didn't fit the mold of people who come in here and they assumed I wasn't a customer. Wow. I decided to give them a try anyway. After purchasing an overpriced platter of cheeses, I was watching the girls behind the counter put it together. One sneezed, and as she turned away I watched her sneeze all over the food. I then addressed this and was told that didn't happen and when I asked for a refund was told they do not provide refunds. So not only did they steal my money as they did not provide product as it had been made unsafe and contaminated, they accuse me when I contacted management this could never happen and called me a liar. The unprofessionalism of this establishment is beyond disgusting, they not only discriminate on people but are providing contaminated food. Please save yourself and do not come here. Simply put, Planthropie is the cafe of the future. I cannot express how grateful I am to have a cafe with wholesome artisanal bites... Where the desserts and cheeses are actually GOOD FOR YOU. Thank you, thank you, thank you, for bringing us food made with super ingredients that are so tastefully put together in a space that I never want to leave!! The ingredients are nut and date based, free of artificial fillers, preservatives, refined sugar, dairy among others and worth EVERY single penny!!

My recommendations: I've been here multiple times and my go-to for cheese is the balsamic raspberry - for drink is anything on tap (they're always changing their flavors and I enjoyed them all equally) - I'm not much of a coffee drinker, but their nitro (I think it's the regular house blend) is quite mild and enjoyable - for bliss ball it's the pistachio flavor - and for cheesecake is their signature. I also got the hazelnut cacao spread last month and I'm still enjoying it! I am usually a fan of plantrophie as vegan places like this one are hard to find !! However, Wednesday of this week I placed a cheese box order for a dance banquet and my order went through. I got a notification of my charges and went on to go get the order. I got to the store and it was closed, I was confused as there wasn’t any notice of the store being closed and I needed a vegan shareable for my commitment. I tried calling and finally a few minutes after already being by the door waiting for an answer, my order gets refunded.
