Booth Park is one of the finest parks ever conceived. Let's start with the cute lil toddler park - it is cute and it is lil and it is for toddlers, and it's precious with lil slides and climbing structures and such. Adorable. There are fields at the front of the park for frolicking and kites and the like, which is also nice. The main park is a classic wooden castle structure, which is awesome and looks lovely. And the centerpiece is a sledding hill - which may pose the question, how does one sled without snow? It is a hill made of artificial turf, and with an assortment of cardboard fragments your child (and you) can grab a piece of a cardboard box and slide down the hill, and your kids will live it and also you will too. And what may be the best part? It kinda sucks to pay on a hot day right? Booth Park knows, and has supplied the solution: Misters babyyyyyy! Your child presses a button and sprayers mist a shaded archway in the middle of the main playground with cool water. An all time great addition to help keep children and their accompanying guardians cool. And that's not to mention it's in downtown Birmingham, one of the loveliest walking streets in the area. Go to this park and make a wonderful day and a timeless...
Read moreMy two year old had fun, but I don't like that I can't look after the baby and pretty much always see her playing. There is a smaller toddler section that would do the trick for this, but of course she thinks she's a big kid and only played there for a minute. She had just as much fun climbing the hills/landscaping as with using the actual play structure (and the tower and wooden look of it make it pretty cool in my book). Parking is paid - but not with coins?? I have to call a number or download an app to park?? This might be consistent for all of Birmingham, but we took a little drive to see a cool new playground so I was surprised by that.
Overall, super cool, but if I return it will be with an adult for every child so I feel better about the...
Read moreI hadn't been to a Birmingham park before this and I will say that I was s h o o k. The park is very nice and clean, with a playground and an open section of grass to frolic with kids or dogs. There are also tables to sit and talk or have lunch. The playground is perhaps one of the most deluxe installments I've seen. There is a button on one of the structures that subsequently MISTS your teetering body on a sweltering day. There is also a large turf hill that is really fun to slide down. There is always cardboard there but be warned that one who used the cardboard will zoom down the hill real speedy-- so be careful with the hill if you're with your children. A quality place to...
