Hubby and I went to the Denny's on 7th late last night where I had one of the worst dining experiences. First, after ordering drinks (Dr. Pepper for my husband, a birthday cake shake and water for me), it took 10 minutes just for us to get the drinks and when we got them, the Dr. Pepper was over-carbonated and tasteless and the shake was melted so it was like a weird, crunchy glass of cold, sweet milk. A little bit after we got our drinks, I accidentally spilled my water. We immediately started cleaning it up with the 2 thin napkins that our silverware was wrapped in and then the waitress came back with our food. Instead of offering to move us to a different booth while the mess got cleaned up or even offering to help us clean it, she told is to wipe the ice cubes onto her tray and I had to ask for more napkins. She left our plates with us and left and that's when I realized that the burger in front of me wasn't even close to what I ordered, which was an avocado bacon burger and the one I got had all kinds of peppers on it. When the waitress came back with 3 more thin napkins, I told her that wasn't the burger I ordered and she tried telling me that I ordered some sort of bourbon burger and I told her what I actually ordered. She aplogized, took my plate, and I had to hungrily sit and watch my husband eat for 10 more minutes. When he was finished, I got my plate only to realize shortly after that all they did was scraped off the toppings and put on new ones. By this time, the fries were cold and hard and the patties were warm and the fat was starting to turn into jelly. The taste was fine and I didn't want to wait another 10 minutes for another plate so I ate it without complaint but couldn't eat more than a few of the cold fries. I should also mention that there were at least 4 waitresses on duty and only 15 other patrons in the restaurant (yes, I counted). However, the whole time we were there, no one ever asked how we were doing or offered to fill my husband's empty drink. I didn't even get a new glass of water after my first one spilled. Finally, we got our check which was another headache. It was like pulling teeth telling the waitress we wanted our check all on one when we clearly both had wedding rings on. It seemed very insulting that the waitress couldn't believe my husband would be married to me. Upon checking out, the hostess asked me how everything was and when I said "not great", she didn't say a word. No apology and no asking what was wrong. I got my change, left, and then had to go back in to get my receipt only for the hostess to say "Here you go, this is your copy" when I was never asked if I wanted it or not. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone and definitely will never go there again. Will be contacting corporate...
Read moreWarning Long review My son who was visiting us from AIT ( army training) for the holidays purchased tickets to from GA to Bismarck instead of Williston ND ( where we live). When it was time to leave Williston, his friends drove him to Bismarck Airport from Williston. Since his flight was so early in the morning the next day, he was dropped off the night before. Thinking the airport was open 24 hrs, he thought he wouldn't have to get a hotel for the night. Well he was asked to leave the airport 2 hours after he arrived because it closed at 12 opening back up at 3 or 330am. He was stranded with no family or friends and it was cold as hell outside. I told him to go to the nearest hotel or 24 hr Restaurant. *Here is where Denny's comes to in. He ordered food and was nervous about just sitting there for hours ( I was a server so he knows that sitting at a table for hours is taking money away from the server who could of turned that table 4 or 5 times) he asked the manager at the time (I wish I knew her name but it was 1/3/18 at 12 something am & manager was female) when he explained his situation she thanked him for asking if he could stay and told him to stay as long as he needed. She also gave him a military discount ( I don't know if she just gave him the discount or if he asked) He said her and his server were so nice about it, that he was able to feel at ease for a few hours ( Brianna was the servers name) i know it's pretty common for servers to write in their tickets words like 'Thanks', which is what Brianna did. My son thought it was nice and took a pic of the receipt to show me.( Which is the only reason I know the server's name) As far as I'm concerned Denny's was my son's loving home for a few hours! Please contact me if he didnt tip 20 percent or more so that I can make up for it!! Thank you for the great hospitality towards my 19...
Read moreI was very pleasantly surprised about the flavor and tenderness off the steaks at Denny's. Every time my kids, have 3, perform for an after school event such as a choir concert, basketball game, or a prom and the whole family attends we all head to Denny's once the event is over. So we go often. Most of the time I get a breakfast plate no matter the time of day because the salted Carmel pancake breakfast is amazing. My Middle son always gets a huge plate of zesty nachos. My youngest, daughter, usually always gets a a build your own slam breakfast. My oldest, son, usually gets something different each time so he can taste all the goodness. My husband always does a build your own slam breakfast with extra sour dough toast. So after that was all said, the last time we went my husband and I decided to try the steak. We both ordered the peppercorn garlic sirloin 8 oz steak; my husband order his medium well and I a medium rare. Mind you on special occasions we usual go to a steak house from the south, no names and we love to order steak, of course it's a steak house. Anyway we didn't know what to expect. The steak wasn't just good it was devine! So tender so juicy, so mmmmmmm. Really truly just MMMMMMMMM! I can't finish a whole plate of food at any restaurant I always have a doggy bag for later snacks. This night I ate everything on my plate except for the little bits of steak I let my kids n husband taste. The Denny's here in Bismarck is a great place to visit with friends and family and eat a good meal. If you can not find something to eat from the menu you just need to stay home and eat your hotdogs and chips because all the food is good. The wait staff is awesome also they make sure you have what you need and want, very friendly. So thumbs up to Denny's...
