There's always some sort of wait whether it be to get a table or your food that's longer than usual. However Macado's is a great place to eat combined with okay service.
I have been to this place numerous times and I have never received top service. I also have never receive awful service. So that means I always get decent service. I get waiters/waitresses that take my order, come by my table once or twice to check on me, then hand me my check when I'm done eating. It's like I'm just another customer to them. They don't try to make me feel special. The host doesn't even bother to say welcome to Macado's. But on the bright side, the service isn't awful.
The main reason to come here food wise is for the sandwiches in my opinion. Every sandwich I have tried has never disappointed me. In my case I just order because I say, hey this thing kind of sounds yummy or hey this thing has bacon. Every time I order a sandwich, it's like flipping a coin and guessing right every time. I'm just delighted by every sandwich and always leave with a full stomach. The sides that come with the sandwiches however are not a good compliment. The potato salad and the coleslaw don't taste good. They look good but what's on the inside matters more. It's like meeting someone for their first time and that person looks really nice. You go up to that person and introduce yourself and that person gives you an attitude. That attitude leaves you a bad taste... Just like the potato salad and cole slaw. Good thing Macado's offers chips as a third side option. Speaking of options, Macado's also offers specials every day and every Sunday and Thursday the restaurant offers discounted wings. Although the options are pretty limited (around 6) the wings are really good. 20 wings typically fill me up. But if you aren't full by the end of your meal Macado's has sinfully sweet desserts. Like I would totally go here just for desserts if I could. I would totally order one and only one mud pie for my meal for myself if it was not considered weird by social standards.
Prices are very reasonable. Before going to Macado's I like to check their website to see what deals they have for that day. Or I can check the chalkboard they have near the host in the front of the restuarant.
The place itself has a very nice theme of a sandwich shop. The restuarant gives off a nice, relaxing vibe that gives me a sense of warmth, comfort, and security. So I can say I not only come here to eat, I come here for the experience. Rolling stone papers, statues, and photographs all add to this sandwichy atmosphere. However with this certain theme, I feel this sense that the place is somewhat dirty. It just looks dirty maybe because of the wood material and how every ornament is scattered making neat minds go crazy. But the place is actually slightly messy. I see dirty dishes on the tables that haven't been cleaned up, I see lettuce and water on the table I have been just seated to, I see a wet floor sign because someone probably spilled water. It may sound like I'm whining but everything adds to an experience,...

Returned part of the order only to receive an incorrect credit which was just a 30 cent difference, but just shows that the people there ARE NOT PAYING ATTENTION to their online menu being out of date, how sandwiches are ordered, making sure they are correct before they leave the kitchen and not even paying attention to refunds after someone brings errors to their attention. The Bobaggers were a disappointment and even the croissants were rock hard instead of soft and buttery. Be careful if you have allergies to verify your ingredients before ordering and don’t expect sandwiches that you once loved to still taste/look the same…ordering out shouldn’t be so hard! UPDATE 1/11/21 — The Manager at Macado’s called first thing this morning to apologize for how things went down with our order yesterday, was super nice and asked for the chance to make things right today. At first I was hesitant, but thought it only fair to allow him the opportunity. Today all three of us were provided lunch on him and this time our Bobagger sandwiches where delicious, the steak was tender and there were plenty of mushrooms and onions. My husband had the Tippecanoe Club and he says that will be his “go to” sandwich from now on. I have to say I wasn’t expecting to hear from anyone today, but I can’t say enough how nice the Manager was and you could tell he honestly wanted to make things right. 5 stars for him and Macado’s today! UPDATE: 1/10/21–Took a chance on Macado’s again and that was a mistake. My tacos had green peppers all over them even though the menu didn’t say anything about green peppers on the tacos. I am highly allergic and when I called to ask why there were peppers on my taco all I got was an “I’m sorry”...no offer to remake the tacos or a refund or anything. Usual terrible customer service. I will probably have to order again for my husband, but my meal will come from a different nearby restaurant. Just got our to go order from Macado‘s and was very surprised by our food. Not only did they leave off part of the order that we paid extra for, but both sandwiches were not made as usual. The meat was tough and instead of looking like sliced beef it look like and had the consistency of a hamburger patty. Asked for extra mayo and onions on one sandwich but both sandwiches had hardly any mayo on them. Called to ask for help with the problem and the person who answered the phone told me she didn’t have time to figure out the order and would have to “call me back”. Because I have worked customer service before it was appalling to me that the person on the phone didn’t have “time” so I just told her to forget it and hung up. Just spent $25+ dollars for poor food and poor service and it will be a long time before I will get anything to go from there again. Wish there had been a “Zero”...

Changing my rating..... over the last year, the food has gone down hill, and the wait time had increased to a ridiculous 1 hour and 5 min average for a sandwich....
I took my dad out for his birthday tonight. For a busy night our waitress got our drink order pretty fast. When she returned with the drinks she begun taking our order. We had a 13 head table. I asked about how they grouped the wings since all the menu said was 40 something cent wings. Our waitress expressed her irritation while answering the question. I brushed it off since it was busy and she probably had answered that question several times tonight. After ordering food, I ordered a beer. I waited 35 min to get a beer at that time I was out of coke. She never asked if I wanted a refill. After I was out of beer, coke, and pretty much everyone else was out of their drinks, she walked past, looked at our table and kept walking. After I stopped her the second time she walked by, I asked for refills and another beer. 33 min later, I received my other beer. Everyone who ordered sandwiches got their food and the 4 others that ordered wings waited another 17 min. My wings were cold and some were frozen in the middle. Basically everything took forever, waitress was rude, unapologetic, slow, and loved to show how irritated she was with her job. Our experience sucked.
I have been going to macados for years and have spent plenty of money there... This last visit was probably my last for...
