Hello to all so i had toured twice And spoke via text a few times with one of the awesome membership advisors. I think her name is Leanne .... She is amazing, friendly and she is exactly the kind of person that brings value to the workplace and really makes everyone feel welcome. No matter whether you are slim or on the heavier side, something I can't really say for everyone. before determining that this was exactly the quality of service and Niche layout and just overall just top quality everything experience. Because if I'm going to spend my money I want it to work hard for me.
So I'm giving it four stars because the amenities are great. Everything's clean the eucalyptus towels, The alchemist products in the shower. It feels safe, secure, and it's very clean. Love hot yoga on Thursdays but here's where you lose the one star and this is really what's starting to rubs me the wrong way. I've been there on Monday, Thursdays and Saturdays You're fromt desk staff not super friendly tbh, especially when I'm leaving the club. They don't even bother saying hi. Have a good night or nothing of the sort and I even look in their directions to see if they're going to acknowledge that a member is leaving. None of that happens. Yes, I might be a newer member but I'm still a member.. coming in is a little different obviously because they want to make sure that you're a member so they verify you. But like if they didn't have to do that, would they even give you acknowledgment or a welcome?
Here's my other thing. The cafe has short hours literally when I get there like around 7:30/8pm It's literally already closed. So as someone that works out in the evening time I can't really get Benefits of having a cafe smoothie bar area. I can't even get a smoothie made or anything. So it really just feels like this is maybe where lifetime fitness excels at because they have longer hours for their members overall across the board.
My third thing the shower area is yes. Other people in the comments have said there's no sauna. That's not a deal breaker for me. I have one at home. I'm not stressed about that. What I recognize is the showers can be kind of icky some of the shaving creams look rusted out. They don't look like they're actually clean the showers. Then every time I have went into the shower, I don't see anyone actually cleaning the showers, wiping them down or spraying them down for that matter, which really makes me very icky and grossed out. I even went into one shower and there was a clump of hair in the drain and I literally almost screamed because what!!
And you don't have any sort of hair product for people's hairs. So if I'm sweating or going for a swim what am I supposed to do? Just put water in my hair that part just kind of doesn't sit with me. I don't know. Maybe I'm just feeling like out of all the products that you have you're missing literally the most essential thing to just kind of make sure that people leave presentable without looking crazy. Especially those of us that don't have straight hair and have curly coily maybe a little kinky hair. Just saying you have all these amazing products you're missing. Literally the most important thing for someone to feel good about leaving a place.
If you've made it this far in the review, I'm happy I took the one star off, especially because the shower area. Hello, that's a very sensitive area where people spend a lot of intimate time in and then just the customer service when exiting the club. The have a good night is a nice feeling. You know like you just spent an hour or two or maybe more in the club. The least you can do is be nice to your members instead of standing there not being "friendly". The other day the guy was literally on his phone when I was getting ready to exit and I made eye contact but literally no greeting or goodbye or anything on his phone... Not every members up tight. Not every member is super bougie. Some of us are really just laid back. Good Vibes and chill. Thank you once again for your prompt review of what I've said up...
Read moreThis is the hands-down the cleanest, well-maintained gym I have ever stepped foot inside with the most courteous and professional staff I have ever met.
Everything about it is top notch--from the pristine locker rooms with clean showers, designer bath and body products, all the fresh towels you need (including cold eucalyptus infused towels to cool off with after breaking a sweat), all sorts of high-end fitness classes, state-of-the-art workout equipment, beautiful pool, hot tub, and steam rooms. Every single member of the staff would address me by name and greet me with a smile. They are out of this world amazing! I would look forward to attending a yoga or barre class a few times a week after work and then go relax in the hot tub or sauna.
That being said, we were almost certain that loyal guests would have been offered a reduced rate down from the $320 for two people a month when the gyms were able to reopen again. I called to ask about this and was told flat-out by a gentleman that it was still the same rate. There is no point paying $320 for a gym membership when everything that was part of the draw of going there was taken away. You have to sing up in advance to save a spot to workout now and all of the after-work time slots are always already taken. My boyfriend and I both work so we cannot make it in the middle of the day. No more hot tub, pool, steam room, towels, so you might as well sign up at one of the other gyms in the area. We have decided to freeze our memberships for the...
Read moreFive stars! And why not? This is truly the best facility I have ever been to for exercise and wellness. This gym checks off so many boxes for me: floor space, equipment availability, friendly staff, cleanliness, hours of operation, and options for recovery and rehab, such as balance boards, various bands, a cold plunge that seats four, a dedicated stretching area, and massage tables, in addition to the masseuse in the spa.
Try not to think of it as just another gym with a high price. Instead, consider it as an investment in removing roadblocks from your path to achieving great workouts and overall fitness goals. The large number of staff onsite helps make the facility what it is by eliminating those roadblocks. I believe this is the biggest difference between Equinox and other gyms. The staff are incredibly helpful and supportive, from the front of the house to the back. The equipment is always in great shape, and if there is an issue, it is repaired quickly (usually the same day, in my experience).
I believe Equinox is the best public gym in Michigan. I have also visited two Equinox locations in Illinois, which were nice but not as nice as Equinox Bloomfield Hills. I highly encourage you to take a tour and form your own opinion. I took two tours about two years apart before I made the commitment to join. And when you take that tour, don't base your decision solely on cost; ask yourself if this is the place that will help you achieve your...
