Very EXPENSIVE but quality is amazing. I had carryout and ordered a caesar salad but got a caesar wrap instead. It’s a busy place with lots of activity so I was probably heard wrong. Not the end of the world but to drive home an hour with this surprise isn’t ideal when a few items cost you $60. I’ll definitely be back and they have baked goods in house and an array of unique items. EDIT: 1/12 after the last visit had the wrong order I came back. The cardinal sin occurred; a hair in my coleslaw. Pictures posted with receipt for transparency. It’s one of those feelings that completely disgusts you. After factoring in that I drove through a snowstorm and the price paid it’s really unsettling. If Steve’s card about reviews they would reach out and attempt to make this right. But how? This was my 3rd visit in the same months and I think I have to pause on my patronage.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Steve’s Deli – A Classic That Never Misses This place has been around since 1995, and it’s easy to see why they’ve stood the test of time. Steve’s Deli serves up some of the best deli sandwiches and matzo ball soup around. Their breakfast is also fantastic — you really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. My buddy and I came in on a Thursday and got their Thursday special: turkey, mashed potatoes with gravy, stuffing, and soup. OMG — it was so delicious. Huge portions, full of flavor, and very reasonably priced for the amount of food you get. On top of the great food, the service here has always been top-notch. Every visit over the years, they’ve gone above and beyond. Never had a bad experience. If you’re anywhere near Bloomfield Hills and craving comfort food or a classic deli meal, Steve’s Deli is absolutely worth the stop.

Stopped by Steve’s Deli in Bloomfield Hills hoping for a solid Jewish deli experience. They have the usual staples—bagel and lox, whitefish salad, latkes, etc.—but unfortunately, the quality just isn’t there. The bagel and lox were passable, but the whitefish salad tasted like it had been sitting for a while. Produce accompanying the dishes was clearly a few days past its prime. The worst offender was the potato latkes. The center was still frozen when served, and when they were reheated, it was in what tasted like very old, dirty oil—really unappetizing. On the plus side, the prices are fair for the area, which makes it all the more disappointing that the freshness and preparation didn’t match the value. There’s potential here, but the quality control in the kitchen needs serious attention.

Went to Steve's Deli and bought some carry-out. When I got home I put everything in the fridge for later (we eat kinda late). When my girlfriend was getting everything out to warm up for dinner she noticed there was more stuff on the bill than in the fridge. So she had me look at the bill. Upon looking at it I immediately noticed the prices were not what I was told and I was charged for an extra cabbage roll. I figured no big deal. I'll just go back the next day and let them know so they can refund me the difference. I went back and showed the receipt to the same girl who rang me up and showed her where she had charged me for an extra cabbage roll ($13) and charged me $27 for the dinner that should have only been $18 ($5 more than a single cabbage roll as quoted by her when originally ordering), I forgot to mention to her the knishes she charged me $8 instead of $7 as I was told. She acknowledged the mistake and apologized (the correct thing to do!), then said she would have her manager come over and take care of it. The manager came over and I explained it to him and he said no problem he would refund me the extra cabbage roll because I never received it. However, he would not refund the overcharge because it was only a mistake. I was kinda shocked by that and said well yeah. I totally understand it was not intentional. But it wasn't my mistake it was yours. Now I expect you to live up to your word and refund my money. He snickered a bit and said no. The girl who rang you up is only 15 years old. I'm sorry she gave you the wrong prices but I'm not giving a refund for that. At this point I was starting to get mad. I told him she is your employee, thus your responsibility. Not mine. I did not miss quote you! You miss quoted me and now I want my money back, I want you to make it right. If you don't I will call my credit card company, have the charges reversed for the entire bill, you will lose me as a customer, and I will go out and write a review to let everyone else know what you are doing. He then snickered again and said go ahead there is no law against this and I won't lose you as a customer either. At this point I was ready to come unglued at his ignorance and arrogance. I told him it absolutely is illegal and you damn well have lost a customer now give me the receipt I'll have the charges reversed (at this point I was not yelling but my voice was much more harsh than previously). Now all the customers were looking at us and he knew it. So he started rambling about me coming in here and banging on the counter and I cut him off and said what the hell are you talking about? I have done no such thing (and no, I really hadn't. So I'm not sure what he was talking about). No give me my receipt back! He then looked around and said I'll take care of you. I said fine, But I want the full $22 owed me (it should have been $24 but I had forgotten about the knishes). He mumbled something about $18 and I said no, do the math $22! So he typed some stuff in his register and told me to put my card in and said he'll give me $21.77. So I said fine. And put my card in to get what refund he was going to give me. At yhis point I really didn't care. I wanted to yank him over the counter and take it out of his hyde! Needless to say I will NEVER, EVER, go back! I don't care what that jerk thinks!! It's a shame too. Because the food there despite being on the pricey side is actually pretty good for the most part. But the arrogance and stupidity of the guy running the place just ruins it.

Long story short.... No I do not recommend this place for the reasons stated above. However, if you do go make sure you keep an eye on your bill. Don't let these assclowns take advantage of you the way...

This review is not about the food. The food is decent however, the service is not. Not trying to call that card, for those that understand where I’m coming from, you know what I’m trying to convey. I visited Steve’s today cause I was craving a corn beef sandwich. I waited at the counter for about 5 minutes or so before being acknowledged, that wasn’t the problem because, I consider myself a patient individual. A couple of staff members walked by and said nothing, no big deal, not a smile, not someone will be right with you, nothing! Like damn does it hurt to smile nowadays? Just asking? Is everyone that uptight? Finally a gentleman ask could he take my order, placed my order and waited to be checked out. While I’m waiting a lady comes in to pick up her order with her dog in hand. Now before all the dog lovers go in, I also love dogs. Here’s where the problem comes in at. Just because you consider yourself clean and your dog clean is not always necessary true, and is it ok for a customer to allow her dog to place their dog paws on the counter where food is being handled and picked up? Let alone bring a dog in an establishment that serves food? Or where people are eating? And no this is not a service dog! Lastly the cashier had a serious attitude problem towards me. While friendly towards others that don’t look like me( and I’m a friendly person). Therefore, after today I choose not to patronize an establishment that doesn’t appreciate a customer that looks like me. Again this review is not about the food but the service I received...

I went to this deli October 3 2022 at around 11:30a. I simply asked a woman that was standing near me if they take Samsung pay? She replied, I guess so, I don't know, we take apple pay. 🚩 I asked again the same question, do you have SAMSUNG pay?

Again she said, I guess, you'll just have to see what happens. 🚩 🤔 It wasn't so much what she said, but the way to spoke to me with an attitude. 😬 She made it clear that she did not want to be bother with me. 🚩

Finally, I get what I wanted and go to pay for it. The same lady rang my order and she was not friendly at all. 😧 Once the transaction was completed she pushed my bag to me and said, ok here you go and walked away... 🚩 No thank you, no smile but all attitude. 🤨 I just stood there for a second and shook my head. 🚩🤐

The staff at this place are not friendly. 🚩I will definitely not be going back because of my unpleasant experience.

You never know what someone is going through in life, even a smile would have been good enough for me. 🤗

I give 0 stars, but I'm positive this review won't change anything. It amazing how many people had unpleasant experiences here and nothing have changed.🚩

I purchased chicken and rice only, the cost $18.00. 🚩Really! The chicken was cold, the staff was rude and unfriendly and I was unhappy. What a waste! Red 🚩flag...
