Arby’s treats their customers RIGHT!
I entered the Arby’s on West 3rd Street for lunch and was completely unprepared for what would transpire while I was there. As I walked up to the counter and started to try and order, a lady who was next to me waiting for her food took issue with how her order was being prepared by the staff.
She began to get very upset with what she believed was an infraction upon health safety code (which I know from 6 years of food service industry was more than likely not). The manager there assured her that she could see what the customer was talking about but assured her that there was no violation.
The customer proceeded to get very upset and started screaming at the employees for not doing it the way she believed it should be done. She was very derogatory and her words understandably sparked the ire of the staff. The whole of Arby’s got very loud for a bit.
All the while I was standing 3 feet away, not able to finish my order due to the commotion. The store manager told the lady multiple times to leave and she wouldn’t, and eventually the manager called the police. The lady backed off from the front but remained in the store for a while.
After everything had settled, and the lady was no longer yelling but sulking at a table refusing to leave, I was finally able to finish my order. The staff there gave me my meal for free after enduring the incident, which was very gracious of them.
Eventually the lady left and the police did not have to get involved, but I wanted to shout out Arby’s for promo-ing the food of those who had to endure the episode, and the kindness of the staff towards the rest of the customers afterwards.
The Arby’s on West 3rd has a great staff and they never should have had to go through something like that. But I’m very pleased with the way...
Read morethe food. The beef and cheddar sandwich is perhaps the most disgusting thing I’ve ever eaten. It has the flavor and consistency of my own vomit. I think that’s just a me-issue though. I’ve had this experience every time I’ve eaten Arby’s over the course of my life.
the wait. I was the fourth person in line when I arrived. It took 16 minutes to get my order taken, and another 10 minutes to get my order. I only ordered two beef and cheddar sandwiches.
Here are some issues that contributed to the wait.
-One employee couldn’t find a sandwich she had just made. She spent minutes checking every bag to find it, including a bag that had already been handed to a customer! It would have taken less time to remake the sandwich.
-a customer had to get a partial refund because some of the items they ordered were out of stock. This disrupted the flow of ordering.
-customers kept returning to the counter because they had incorrect or missing items, further increasing the wait.
-the employee running FOH seemed not to be relying on the screens to manage FOH orders, instead just looking at the customers milling around, and asking them what they ordered
Here’s the positives. Staff are friendly and the dining room is SO CLEAN. Management, please retrain staff and/or rework your systems and processes to help things run more smoothly. A minor lunch rush like this is easily handled by other local fast food joints. It is possible to have similar success at this location if you do things...
Read moreMyself and my girlfriend pulled up to the drive thru at 10:10pm . We had googled the closing time for this location prior to stopping. Google said they closed at 11 pm. We sat at the drive thru for 5 minutes with no contact or response from inside the building. I had noticed several vehicles in the lot and people inside when we pulled in, so I backed up and parked my truck. I walked over to the entrance and seen that it was locked. so I knocked on the door. A woman ( non employee appearing) looked at me after I had knocked and then looked away from me ( ignoring me). so I walked over to the window to where I could see inside the lobby. There were 2 young kids crawling all over the tables and booth dividers. There was pizza and 7/11 cups on a table. I knocked on the window again and the lady looked at me and then looked away again ( I was less than 6 ft from her and had knocked pretty hard). There was an employee behind the counter cleaning who appeared to have no knowledge of me being there. I work in retail management, so I know there is a way to look up sales by hour at this location. I'm sure it's quite low after 9pm ( only sales come from friends and employees from within the building). if there aren't sales, I bet there are several declined orders (theft). I got back in my truck and found pleasant service at the taco bell...
