I had an incredibly disappointing experience here on April 13, 2025 around 3 PM. First, I accidentally walked toward the staff area and was snapped at rudely instead of being politely redirected. Then, a staff member spoke to my friend, who has special needs, in an extremely condescending and sarcastic tone. She was standing on a chair, and instead of calmly addressing the situation, she loudly and in an extremely rude tone said, “Get off, what are you doing? This is unprofessional,” while glaring at us the entire time.
To make matters worse, another employee began hovering near our table while cleaning, clearly eavesdropping, then walked back to the group of staff, after which they all turned and stared at us with judgmental expressions. We were also the only Indian customers in the store, and it’s hard not to feel like we were being singled out.
If you’re looking for a place to be treated with disrespect, this is it. I wouldn’t recommend this establishment to anyone who values kindness, inclusivity, or basic customer service.
Edit: owner of the business personally reached out to me to make things right but didn't really...
Read moreWent to grab a quick bagel before having class. Figured I would go here over Starbucks, supporting local and all.
Immediately felt like an idiot bcs the staff made me feel dumb for not knowing how to order. Didn’t greet me, just asked what I wanted.
Ordered a bagel, spinach, just toasted. Wall for a menu says that is $1.25. I rang up my order and the woman charged me $2.70. No butter or honey or cream cheese or a fancy Asiago bagel that is $1 more. I asked if that was right to the other stuff after she had already rung me through (very fast paced). The one girl seemed to find that odd too, but the other girl said, “that’s right.” Unlikely based on your menu, but I’m not going to argue when I’m in a hurry.
So either they are deceptive about their prices (menu is a wall, so maybe?) or the staff just don’t care to correct mistakes. Either way, not worth going and paying $1 more for a bagel that tastes the same as Starbucks. And Starbucks gives you...
Read moreI worked at the Morton Street Bloom Bagel facility and at commissary making the bagels. Let me make this clear, the food is over priced, the workers are underpaid and underappreciated, and the stores themselves are disgusting. This to this day has been the worst job I've ever had. The owner is well established in Bloomington, now has a deal with the health department to come only after hours because a past visit didn't do so well. More than one location has a roach infestation, to which the management does absolutely nothing. Workers at the bakery will drop bagels on the dirty factory floor and put them back. If you have any interest in working here, do not! You will be underpaid and underappreciated. I was switched to working 3rd shift, threatened to quit, was promised better working conditions, and nothing happened. Trust me, many places are hiring, don't do it to yourself. And if you want to eat here, just keep this review in mind....
