Chipotle Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Bloomington

It's been quite a while since I went to a Chipotle but I saw they had brisket so I thought we'd give it a try again. I had heard all the hubbub regarding increasing prices and decreasing serving sizes. Now I understand why! The commercials showed juicy slices of meat - the franchise I visited had diced it into pieces, resulting in tiny hard bits of flavorless leather. I got roughly a tablespoon of meat and about half the amount of other ingredients as they used to give you, which is just as well because everything was so spicy, I couldn't finish it. Total cost for a burrito and a small drink? $22!! I was going to order a second item with the brisket for my companion but at noon on a Saturday, they were already out and told me emphatically that it would take 20 whole minutes to make more (translation: we don't want to). Seriously?? So you weren't planning on selling any more brisket for the rest of the day?? They had no fewer than 8 employees but only 2 working the front - one putting together the orders and the other (obviously the manager despite only a couple of years difference from the other employees) working the cash register (yet it still took 20 minutes to get our order). The whole team was teenage/20s males and all of them displaying signs of complete disinterest in doing a good job. If the lack of smiles and eye contact wasn't clear, other telltale signs were left all over the floor, on filthy countertops and tables, overflowing trash bins, and empty slots where lids and straws once lived. If I could give less than 1 star I would. This place was absolutely disgusting! Trash receptacles were overflowing with trash, no forks, very few napkins, trash all over the area where the utensils were supposed to be, and not a single clean table in the whole restaurant. To top it off, apparently one of my kids refilled their water cup with a soda as we were leaving and the manager (James) forcefully ripped the cup from my kids hands and threw it away and yelled at them. I was unaware of what was happening at this point but when I found out I went back in and told the manager that I would address the issue with my kids but that he should be more concerned with the unacceptable condition of the restaurant to which he responded “yeah whatever, don’t steal” and walked walked away from me and refused to speak to me anymore. I then paid for the drinks that they “stole” even though they didn’t even take a drink of them before he grabbed them from their hands and threw them away. Right is right and wrong is wrong, so I addressed the issue with my kids, but this managers actions and rudeness towards me and my kids was absolutely unacceptable. I’m not sure how he ever got a job as a manager because he’s not even fit to clean the toilets because he clearly can’t even keep his restaurant clean and is more concerned about 10 cents worth of soda than he is about the disgusting conditions of this restaurant. Horrible staff, horrible cleanliness, horrible food. Bunch of teenagers working. I asked for Barbacoa burrito, took them 3 minutes to find tortilla shells, they skimp me on rice, so I ask for more, the guy rolls his eyes and puts another tiny bit on. We get to the meat, and they don’t have any barbacoa(this has happened before at this location to me as well) I ask how long it’s gonna be till it’s ready they say 5 minutes. Okay, I’ll wait, I got back up There had to wait in line again waited for 10 more minutes, still no barbacoa, I ask how long till it’s ready, the guy asks the cook how long, the cook says I don’t have any cooking. Totally ruined my night went somewhere else my partner was very upset with the food that he did get, and we went to get a refund and everyone had such a horrible attitude the whole time like we were inconveniencing them by asking them to do their jobs. The whole staff was rushing to get customers thru the line so they could get back into their phones. Just horrible experience. That’s what happens when you hire a bunch of college kids I guess. This was on a Friday evening so I understand they were busy but it was really unacceptable the level of service and disrespectful employees there.
