Disappointed, plenty of room for improvement. First the place is very clean and the staff is friendly and prompt. There were three adults and a 3yo. I ordered a raspberry margarita and there was so much ice I would estimate 6-7 oz of product. I honestly do not think there was any alcohol whatsoever in it. It tasted just like raspberry lemonade. Wife tried it and agreed, no alcohol. The meal promptly came and looked good. I had the Burrito Ranchero which was to have beef, beans and rice with sour cream and guac. The burrito was 95% rice, very little 'beef' mixed in and the beans were just in the middle and maybe a table spoon worth if that. Again it was 95% rice (for $15.99). Wife had taco salad which we both agreed was, well...the picture speaks for itself. Daughter had the chimichanga which appeared to be the best meal there and the kids meal was ok. We all agreed the taste was very bland, not impressed at all with the flavor. As for value, none. For what 3 adults and one child had ($80 with tip) we could had gone to Texas Roadhouse. Sorry but we won't return, prices are stupid high for what you get and what you do get isn't anything special, average at best. Should had wondered why on a Friday night there were only 2 other parties not including ours there, now we know what everyone else knows, food average...maybe...drinks watered down and overpriced. We enjoy a quality/authentic style Mexican meal and this isn't it. Also, the receipts aren't itemized, it's just one total. Didn't notice if there was a bogus merchant fee added. If you do go, look very closely at...
Read moreWe went twice. The margarita martini is excellent.
The service was lackluster. Friendly but no refills, wait 10 minutes for anyone to come over and longer for water. Only a few other tables of people in the whole place.
Now to the food. The first time, it was 5/10. Ok. Not great. Small thin carne asada almost like beef jerky. Bland.
Wife and I went back for a date night and the beef tasted like tuna. I thought I was crazy telling wife my enchiladas tasted like tuna and then she had a bit of her beef taco and agreed. I almost threw up.
Both our chicken tacos were bland and super watery. The tortillas on both had disintegrated and fallen apart by the time we got our meals. Wife sent hers back. I just ate a bit or two of the chicken out of mine but it was gross. It seemed like it had been frozen. It was just dry and watery at the same time and very bland.
I say this, and I can only recall one other place in all my years where I couldn’t eat the food. I’m not super picky. It was disgusting. I was so let down because we were super hungry and talking about how much we couldn’t wait to chow down. I still could not eat it.
We did not get anything to go boxes and I’ll never go back. Being new is one thing, but the food issues were...
Read moreOur first visit here, but appears they are still working out some things as they are fairly new. First, be warned if paying by card there is a merchant fee that is not disclosed before or after unless you realize the totals are off and ask. We told them they should probably tell people up front about this fee. Second, the register receipt you receive at the table is in pennies. I took a pic for reference and is how we discovered the merchant fee as the final receipt didn’t match. The service and atmosphere were decent, although it was pretty smokey in there. They should probably have the ventilation hood checked. The food is more authentic and not your regular tex-mex variety. It is however very greasy for some of the dishes we ordered, queso fundido (mild-med spice), burrito fajita, charro beans. The Tacos El Tucan lacked the pineapple that was on the menu description and very bland in my opinion. The steak Tucan was good and well flavored. Salsa and chips were decent with no spice and a medium chunk to the salsa. The pico is slightly spicy and very chunky. The seating and tables are garden variety nothing special here. Overall, I would say that they did not win us over especially with the check surprise at the end of lack...
