UPDATED 7/17/25 After receiving a coupon for a free slider I decided to give Smalls a 2nd chance, and they fumbled it even worse than the 1st awful experience. I decided to go to the walk-up window to avoid the weird process of having the order-taker in the drive-thru looking all around in my car while taking my order. When i presented the coupon to the kid at the window, he froze for a minute before finally asking someone how to work the register. Another employee came over and finally figured out how to utilize the free slider coupon. My order was 3 sliders and a side of queso. After waiting about 10 minutes on the patio I was given my order. When I got home(would never eat on that patio, awful location with traffic and interstate noise but was also not very clean) the burgers I got were once again very oily/strangely wet - not greasy like normal meat is. In addition to the strange burgers, I did not recover the queso I ordered. For having to pay so much for so little you would think they would be able to manage getting everything in the bag but I have been proven wrong. Unfortunately in this day and age being too busy to return means I am at a loss there. Congrats to Smalls Sliders, the incompetency in addition to an already prior bad experience means no more business from me to you. I believe in 2nd chances and you took the chance and made it as bad as possible. If I get any more coupons for this place im doing everyone a favor and tearing them up. One and done with Small's Sliders - horrible experience overall.
Despite having a menu board and ordering stall, they weirdly send someone out to your car with a tablet to take your order long before you even reach that menu board. When I told the employee I did not know what I wanted because I hadn't reached the menu board, they handed me a small slip of paper that showed what food items they offered, but with no prices. When I told them I wanted to know prices before I ordered, they sighed and rolled their eyes at me, and moved along to the next vehicle. After the 6 or 7 cars ahead of me passed through after about 25 minutes, I was finally able to see a menu board with prices, except I was not able to order until the employee walking around with a tablet came back to my car??? Which took a while because they were trying to take the order of cars behind me... After finally being able to order 3 sliders and a side of queso, I had waited another 20 minutes to reach the actual serving window. The employee asked me name and I was handed my food quickly, which came in a typical Styrofoam-clam style to go box within a large plastic bag. The serving window closed after I was handed my food with no additional interaction. Once home, I opened the to-go box to find 3 sliders that looked as if they were assembled with a slingshot, and queso in a separate container that was hardly warm and had coagulated on top. The sliders themselves contained very dry beef with no seasoning, I wasn't even able to taste a hint of salt or pepper. The pickles for toppings were also mostly dried out and flavorless. The buns were oddly wet, which was odd - holding the burger normally left doughy brown residue on my fingers. The cost for these 3 sliders and queso was over $12 - based on the quality and service Iwould not have paid any more than $5 if I had known.
I advise anyone curious to avoid. If you're looking for a good slider I suggest making the trip to a White Castle - they have better service, food, and it doesn't cost an...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAn enjoyable but not great meal. I like the walk-up vibe of Smalls, and particularly appreciate the sturdy awning over the tables, as well as the fans, which will be nice in the summer. The food was good, but not amazing. I love the buns, and the burgers were tasty, but there was only a tiny dab of 'smauce' on them, holding the pickle down. I assume you could ask for more (or hold the cheese or pickles) but given the way even the napkins talk about the sauce, I expected... sauce.
It's nice to have a new place with waffle fries, and don't let their red color fool you, they're not spicy. The sweet tea was a little too sweet for me, but really tasty, so I'll definitely get it again.
There was no ketchup available, just smauce (and maybe some kind of cheese sauce?) and I would have liked some for my fries.
Bathrooms were clean and large, single stall, great for anyone who needs them. There were only two, so potentially could be a line.
Parking is limited. Like, ten spaces. That makes sense, given that they're mainly drive through (they have two lines), but you may find yourself walking.
I didn't really care for the fake turf under the tables. Not only is that going to be a pain to clean, but because it's inset (sunk an inch or so lower than the surrounding concrete), someone could trip or turn an ankle on the edge if they have trouble walking. So just watch that step.
I only saw one handicapped parking space, but everything was handicapped accessible (other than the area with the turf, which could be challenging). Bathrooms are...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe gave it a try, first the long lines...as with any new business everyone wants to try it but the lines moved well and the person taking orders in person outside did an amazing job. Having never been I had to glance at the menu. PRICEY for what you get. I figured they would be smaller burgers so I asked for the double but to get a double you have to order a meal (can't order as is). Menu is super super limited, slider and fries or slider and fries basically. Like Canes, very limited to move fast. The burger was good, small but good. Fries were 'ok', think someone said the best (must work there), average fries. Price though, we spent a hair under $25 for two of us, not a value (try Applebee's 2 for 25). We would likely return and try the walk-up some evening when things slow down. Overall the food was good, not amazing or OMG but good, price though is high (gotta pay for that new lot/building loan). The employees we met were super friendly and appeared to enjoy themselves so management must be good. Also, not sure if the 'Smauce' is any good. There was a tiny squirt under the pickle (which I tossed). Afraid if we visit again and ask for extra sauce the upcharge will exceed purchasing...
