If you’re looking for a brunch spot with friendly faces and a comfortable vibe, Another Broken Egg Cafe in Boca Raton might be worth checking out—but with tempered expectations on the food.
The service here is fantastic. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel right at home, greeting us warmly and even sharing a few menu recommendations. Our server went above and beyond, refilling our coffee like clockwork, checking in just enough without being overbearing, and making sure everything was to our liking. You could tell she really cared, which added a personal touch to the experience.
As for the atmosphere, the cafe has a comfortable, inviting setup that’s easy to relax in. It’s bright and airy with a nice blend of rustic and modern decor, a bit like the place you’d imagine for a weekend brunch with family or friends. It’s busy but not chaotic, with just enough buzz to make it feel lively without being too loud. We found ourselves taking our time and enjoying the setting, which doesn’t happen everywhere.
Now, the food. Unfortunately, it didn’t quite match up to the charm of the people and the space. I ordered the Chicken and Waffles, which sounded amazing on the menu but was just okay in execution. The chicken was a bit bland but the waffle was very good! My friend got the Cinnamon Roll French Toast, which looked impressive but turned out to be more style than substance. It was dense and a little dry, missing that rich, melt-in-your-mouth flavor you’d hope for in a French toast dish. It wasn’t bad, just… average. Not memorable, and given the prices, we hoped for more.
That being said, the coffee was solid, and they do have a few unique options on the menu that might be worth trying if you’re adventurous. For instance, they have a Lobster and Brie Omelette, which we didn’t try but sounds intriguing. Maybe next time, I’ll give that a go and see if it changes my mind.
All in all, Another Broken Egg Cafe has a lot going for it in terms of service and ambiance, but if you’re coming for the food alone, you might leave feeling a little underwhelmed. It’s the kind of place I’d go back to mainly for the people and the relaxing environment—and maybe to try that Lobster and Brie Omelette, just in case I missed a hidden gem. If you’re nearby and want a pleasant brunch outing, this place is worth a visit; just keep your culinary expectations realistic, and you might leave as content with your...
Read moreAnother broken egg seems to have substantially declined in quality. It took almost 1 hour to get our food and unfortunately there were issues. The location was not overly busy but we did wait a bit to get a table so it wasn't empty but it also wasn't busy. We ordered 2 coffees and a pitcher of mimosas. It took about 30 minutes to finally get the pitcher and about 10 minutes to get the coffee. My coffee was cold but my companion's was not so I guess I just got the last bit of the pot. The issue with the food was that a side was missing for one entree and the tiramisu French toast was French toast with cream cheese instead of being what is described as French toast stuffed cream cheese with a sprinkling of Cocoa and espresso whipped cream. It was extremely frustrating to wait an hour to not get what I ordered. To be fair it had a very very light sprinkle of Cocoa but it was so light that I had to look for it to see it. I asked about the espresso whipped cream and was told they were out of it. I should have been told it was unavailable when ordering and I would have instead ordered the cinnamon roll french toast. The side was quickly provided once we mentioned it was missing. The negatives of this experience were the extended wait for things to show up (particularly the pitcher and the food, the wait for the coffee really could have been worse) and the fact that they should have communicated that they were out of the espresso whipped cream. The server did offer an alternative and did provide regular whipped cream but it defeats of ordering a specialty item so I rejected the offer for an alternative. I feel like I could have tolerated the long wait but not the long wait in combination with not getting what I ordered. I would not be upset if the lack of espresso whipped cream had been communicated since I would have been able to order something else without increasing the wait. I feel that communicating that an item cannot be made as listed is the responsibility of the server to communicate to the customer and the responsibility of the kitchen staff to communicate to the server. Had I ordered and then been informed and asked if I wanted an alternative, it would have avoided my dissatisfaction. I will not return to another broken egg, my last few experiences have...
Read moreMy boyfriend added me and my sister on the waitlist online, we got there, checked in, was told our wait was 15 minutes. Upon returning after 15 minutes, we were advised there would be another “5-15” minute wait. My boyfriend went inside and they were just cleaning the table. After being seated, the table was still wet from cleaning…so they couldn’t even dry the table down. The silverware was SLAMMED on the table in front of my sister by the host. We asked for drink recommendations…weren’t really able to get any. Put in an order for drinks, the drinks took SOOO long to arrive to the table, and were EXTREMELY syrup based. Absolutely disgusting. We put in the order for the food. Waited a bit longer. Realized the time was 2:55 and this place closed at 3. We arrived originally at 1:45. At that point, we would’ve been served after the restaurant was closed. I asked my boyfriend and sister if they just wanted to cancel the order and leave. I assume a manager overheard, shortly after, I stopped a waitress to let her know we’d like to cancel the order and go, and there were 3 managers behind her. This shows me they are familiar with customer conflict at this location. It’s Sunday and we didn’t want to deal with conflict, so we didn’t address our concerns at this time. I don’t normally go places rated under 4.0, but the 3.5 star rating says it all. Our waitress came to close us out, and we waited for the check for like….AWHILE. I don’t even know time frames at that point. Finally, someone asked if we were okay and we advised we’re still waiting for the check. After receiving the check, the total was $40 for drinks we didn’t even want to drink. I feel like I wasted a lot of my day at this place, and the experience from start to finish was just not good. We didn’t want to wait for our waitress to come back for the check because she was practically in LaLa land… my boyfriend handed the check to someone else, and she chimed in to take care of it. I don’t know why everything took SO long, all the way down to waiting on the check…we of course paid the bill for our unfinished...
