Terribly horrible experience yesterday, 7/19/20, with the takeout food that my husband and I ordered from Indian Harvest. It was his birthday weekend and we decided to celebrate by ordering take out from this "new" Indian restaurant near our house. I use quotation marks because this restaurant used to be Tanjore and we have visited them in person AND ordered take out from them and the food was really tasty. We are local residents of Boca Raton and have tried every single Indian restaurant in this city and we never had such a bad experience. When we received our $140 worth of food yesterday, my husband and I were flabbergasted, appalled and very disappointed with the way it was prepared. The Baingan Bharta was prepared like someone learning to cook Indian food in the beginning stages. Trust me, I know because I was there at one point in my life. It was watery, the spices weren't right, the texture was totally off and the eggplant was not prepared the right way. It felt like it was cut up into pieces and boiled in the sauce (NOT the way it should be prepared). The rice in the Biryani was not well cooked and the rice that was served on the side as an accompaniment was not cooked either. Let's just say almost all of the items we ordered were completely unappetizing, save for a few items.
We ended up calling the restaurant and speaking to the owner/manager, Ramesh Patel, and when he asked for my husband’s name and realized that it was an Indian name he had the gall to say that “Oh, you are an Indian so that is why you didn’t like it, because the regular customers do not like spice so we have to prepare it with less spice.” Who says that?! I was appalled, hearing this on speaker phone. Ramesh Patel told us to go to the restaurant in person so he can doctor up the meals and give us a better taste. Wow! We avoided having to go out of the house due to the current health crisis and here he is telling us to get out of our home, drive to his restaurant and BRING THE FOOD so he can fix it. He never once offered to refund our money, which was a lot –$140 –and he never offered a complimentary meal. When I got on the phone to speak my mind, he immediately asked who is talking to him and what my name is. Does that really make a difference when you have an unhappy customer talking to you about the quality of food and not wanting to engage in any small talk?
In the end, we reported our situation to Delivery Dudes and they did not help one bit. They directed us to speak to the owner and only then can we have a refund. Well, we did that beforehand and it didn’t work. No one was there to champion us, to have our backs – not Indian Harvest nor Delivery Dudes. So in the end, my husband’s birthday dinner was a disaster and we had to throw all the food away. Thanks a lot, Indian Harvest. We will never eat at your restaurant ever again. One and Done!

The classy chic decor, an open air outdoor seating makes it a coveted fine dining spot, & its tucked in the gorgeous downtown Boca's posh Royal Palm Place
We were taken aback by the enriching stories about the dishes we ordered & how authentically they are cooked keeping the traditional style with a modern twist to enjoy international gastronomic experience. Indian culinary experience is mostly about the flavors & fragrance of whole spices dancing in the food, so our friendly server who is slso from south west part of India informed us that the whole spices are brought from India, oven roasted & grinded in house ensuring no compromise in quality / fragrance.
We started our gastronomic journey with some complimentary papad served with green & red chutney, both the chutneys were delicious & perfect For appetizer we ordered an amazing unique dish called “Roti pe Boti” the dish was served in very flaky sweetish paratha on top of which they served the minced lamb patty which just melted in the mouth, one could smell the smokiness flavor of the fresh tandoor with every bite & it was topped with mayo sauce with some indianized flavor to balance the spice level of the meat, cooked to perfection, served best to suit the international audience. For main course we chose ‘Irani Ghosh’ lamb cooked tendor in caramized onion sauce, it is a thick gravy with a rich taste of blends of spices & aromas, it came with a portion of basmati, perfect to go with the dish & the show stealer was the ‘rosemary naan’ No indian dining is complete if you havnt ordered their naan or bread, well this one was for sure loaded with some surprise very unique but very delicious If you are a lamb lover you would definitely not be disappointed as they do wonders with their lamb platters, chicken also have a wide interesting varieties Lets move on to desert, we went ahead with the pistachio kulfi & it turned out to be one of the creamiest & yummiest desert we have ever had..do try your luck with this to end it on a sweet note I definitely recommend this place for a special occasion & you can thank me later🤣 Unfortunately many Indian restaurants in the US fail to make the curry right, hence a lot of people who try Indian food for the first time get it all wrong thinking indian food is a whole bunch of spicy gravies or curries which look & taste spicy & similar..
*if you want to taste the authentic ethnic Indian food, this is the place to try❤️❤️❤️ Indian food definitely is not just some spicy curry it is a lot more than that, it is a union of whole spices, flavors & fragrance...

This was my fiancé and I’s second time coming here and we were excited after such a great first experience.
When we first walked in, the I assume owner (older gentleman) asked if we would like to sit at the first table next to the open door. My fiancé politely asked if we could sit at a table closer to the bar to avoid the hot draft. The owner immediately made a comment about “not being so picky on a date”. We laugh it off and continue on. As we are sitting there, we notice two black cats that come in and out of the restaurant. I don’t particularly love that there’s cats, but they’re not bothering anyone. However, I had to speak up when one dragged in a dead lizard and started hitting around the floor near our table. The waitress did pick it up with a napkin and throw it out, but we did not see her wash her hands before returning to work.
The first time we came here, we were shocked that rice was not included with the Chicken Tikka Masala entree. However, we each got our own portion so it was not that big of a deal. This time, we were happy to see that each entree came with rice. When our food was brought out, we were only given one serving of rice. As we looked around, we noticed that for every two entrees, only one serving of rice is given. I was disappointed by this as each entree was $25. The food was great, but for the size, I don’t think the price is justified. We also ordered garlic naan bread and thought the portion was small as well, but it was great too.
After we finished, we were anticipating the complimentary dessert they served last time. It seemed like a small pudding of some sort, but we really enjoyed it. This time, we were served 6 skinny wedges of white/pink watermelon. I would have rather skipped this if given the option.
When we were brought our bill, I looked over everything and it was $77. After the waitress (who had not been serving us) rang my fiancé’s card, the bill was $99. We brought it to the owner’s attention and it turns out she had paid for the table behind us. She gave us the option of issuing a refund and recharging us or giving us cash. As she could not guarantee the refund would be immediate, we didn’t want to take the chance of being charged twice. She dropped off $16 in cash and ran off. We didn’t see either of them before we left. Although we still left $10 for a tip, I was really disappointed in how this was handled. No apology or follow up from the owner to make sure the situation was taken care of.
Although this restaurant serves great food, there are some major improvements that...
