Horrible experience! Been to a bunch of sushi by bous - this has been the worst - although it was advertised as the best - and supposed to be the biggest one. Had a 10pm reservation - they require a credit card for a reservation- Sat on a couch for 20 minutes until someone came up and asked what we wanted to drink. Didn’t get seated until 10:30. Once seated - all chefs are taking shots - which the employees are asking them what they want to drink - serving the chefs drinks before the guests that are sitting. The hostess had a tray of drinks for patrons - and shots for chefs - she went over and brought drinks to chefs first before the paying customers. It took a very long time to get drinks - we would order a drink - it would come out 15 minutes later - and the bartender was no where to be found - the regional manager, Matt, was making drinks - very odd. Next - the worst thing of this experience - both chefs fed customers with their hands a sushi piece into there mouths - then preceded to serve the rest of the guests with their unwashed hands! Horrible - very unsanitary and unprofessional! I was disgusted the entire time. After asking to speak with a manager - they said that he left - and they said the “captain” would speak to us — we waited for another 15 minutes - then we got up - and asked someone where they were - and the bartender came to speak with us! Extremely unprofessional- this place is a JOKE! We told them about the chef feeding guests and then placing sushi pieces on our plates right after without washing hands - and they said it was part of the experience! And we asked about the chefs getting drunk also - she said it was part of the experience. I would never recommend this to anyone!!! Waste of...
Read moreThe omakase was excellent and the entire experience was very pleasant. You can get either a 12- piece omakase or 16 piece, we each got one. Of the 12 pieces there was one piece I didn't care for and the other 11 were exceptional (including the scallop and the seared, buttery salmon at the end). The 16-course omakase had a few items I didn't care for but that's just personal taste. The price/value is excellent. You are seated at a sushi counter, there is one chef who is working with precut fish. He has to really hustle as he is making 12 pieces every time. Because of this set up you don't see the chef slice the sushi, so if you want that experience this is not it. But you can watch him expertly prepare the pieces, a top of soy sauce here, etc. (To the one reviewer who complained there was no soy sauce, you prob are better off at a low-end place because high-end sushi places do not put out soy sauce for you to dunk your fish; the flavors are built in.) A few negatives, the music seems oddly loud and fast paced for a place that really has more of a mellow vibe. Also, someone complained they were given only one tiny napkin-- this is true (and odd)! The biggest negative is that as the chef is hustling to serve each piece he has to tell each diner what it is and how it was made or what is in it but unfortunately he is going so fast that most of the time it was impossible to understand or hear him. (For the 12 course the fish is listed on a sign right at the counter.) Overall this should be on your...
Read morei waited to post this expecting the restaurant to respond in a civilized manner after i expressed my displeasure to them directly. Their response was "we asked our staff" "you got what you paid for", too bad you didnt understand we consider water a course, ice a course and if you add the number of ice cubes we gave you it was more than 4 so that's over 5 courses right there... (so im not exactly quoting the response)
THE STORY IS: we paid for 17 course omakase but were served less, the basic level includes 12 courses, and that plus one hand roll was all we received - yes i can count and know simple math, 12 plus one DOES NOT EQUAL 17!. So i was a bit displeased when price for 12 was only $60 per person yet we had to pay $120 per person for same 12 courses as listed ON THE WALL plus the one extra hand roll. The food - fish was good, the atmosphere -comfortable, but we were rushed w/each and every course, some items served before proceeding course had been finished. HOWEVER the big issue was paying for a 17 course dinner and only getting 12 plus 1. i cant recommend this restaurant but if you decide to try it SKIP the 17 level "BOUGIE EXPERIENCE" - stick w/12 for $60 or they will rip you off...
