We recently decided to take the Brightline from Orlando and chose Boca Raton as our destination for a quick getaway. We stayed near Mizner Park and, after exploring the area, decided on Eddie Vâs Prime Seafood for dinnerâwhat an excellent choice!
From the moment we arrived, the service was top-notch. Though we arrived early for our 8 pm reservation, we were seated promptly in a cozy booth, as requested. The team was attentive, offering several water options and quickly bringing them out.
The menu at Eddie Vâs is impressive. I started with the Shellfish Towerâa visually stunning array of Gulf shrimp, Blue Point oysters, jumbo lump crab, and Maine lobster on ice, accompanied by a variety of flavorful sauces. My wife and mother-in-law opted for the Maine Lobster Bisque, served tableside with a rich, creamy finish and garnished beautifully. We were also treated to warm, delicious bread; my only minor suggestion would be to offer softened butter instead of cold.
For drinks, I went with the Smoked Old Fashioned, presented on a smoked plank for added flair, while my wife enjoyed a refreshing Pomegranate Mule, and my mother-in-law was delighted with a mocktail version.
Knowing the Shellfish Tower would be a substantial starter, I chose the Georges Bank Scallops as my main. They were perfectly caramelized and complemented by a mix of citrus, Marcona almonds, and brown butter. My wife ordered the 10oz center-cut filet mignon cooked medium (her preference), and though it initially arrived medium rare, the staff was gracious in adjusting it. My mother-in-law enjoyed the Norwegian Salmon, which was served with a flavorful mustard and Kentucky rye whiskey glaze over baby carrots and sautĂŠed spinach.
We also shared a side of creamy mashed potatoes, seasoned to perfection. Every dish was delicious, the ambiance was elegant, and the staff was attentive and accommodating.
I was thrilled to learn that thereâs an Eddie Vâs in Orlando as well. Weâll definitely be returning for another memorable mealâwhether itâs for a special occasion or simply because!...
Read moreMyah is the BEST server EVER!!! From the time we sat down until the time we left Myah was very very attentive but not aggravating. She's a beautiful girl with a beautiful spirit, oh wait let's talk about the restaurant also
We had 5:45pm reservations on a Sunday. We were seated almost immediately in the V-Lounge after checking in. The place is rather dark and loud with chatter but it bothered us none. There was a live 2 pc band playing soft r&b music and the bar was full. We were surprised to hear that it was happy hour from 4-6:30pm on a Sunday. Of course we ordered from that menu for our teasers/appetizers and I also had a cocktail off of there.
We started off with the teasers: South African lobster bites, lollipop lamb chops, Eddie's Rockefeller , and and the appetizer jumbo lump crab cake. The S.A. Lobster bites were very tasty but not quite bites they were much smaller, more like a nibble with the front teeth lol ($19 for 5 skews). The lollipop lamb chops were very very tender but a little salty ($22 for 2). The Eddie's Rockefeller were my fave OMG they were so tasty ($9 for 2). My husband LOVED the JUMBO CRAB cake ($27 for 1). It was nothing but crab and very little filler and it did not fall apart. I tasted it and it was tasty.
As for the cocktails we had the Bulleit sour, a pineapple whiskey sour, and crown w/ ginger ale. I didn't like the pineapple whiskey sour as it was too sour. I believe they use unsweetened pineapple juice or either it wasn't shaken up if they poured from a can. The other 2 drinks were nice.
For dinner, yep we had a little room to spare, we shared the double South African lobster tails paired with asparagus and honey sriracha roasted Brussel sprouts w/ cashews. Everything was good. We were full, FULL after this. Myah offered us dessert, bananas foster w/ butter pecan ice cream, but there was no way in heaven that we could take another bite of anything. When they bought the check she had put the dessert in a to go...
Read moreCOCKROACHES!! My sister has talked up Eddie Vâs so I thought Iâd try it out and have a nice dinner with my son. Wherever there is one roach there is more and I saw two!! One ran right across the hallway as the silent, unenthusiastic host in dangerously skinny heels was bringing us to our table. And another one crawling on the wall right next to all the booths!! I cannot believe we were the only ones who saw this, not to mention there was absolutely no concern when I brought this issue to the manager âShishiâ (I donât remember her name.) and she just gave me the lame excuse that they came in from outside. Aside from this my experience was the equivalent to a Applebeeâs. Our server Tiffany took forever to bring our meals to the table, I donât think we had a single meal that was hot and freshly plated, everything tasted like it was sitting for a while. Not to mention they make their servers wear white suits which is fine if youâre good at keeping yourself clean during service but our server was a complete mess. Itâs like she was wearing tie-dye with all the condiment stains she had, why arenât the managers giving her a change of uniform when this happens? On the way to the restrooms I saw a couple of waiters on their way to the kitchen, eating off of plates that Iâm assuming theyâve just taken off of someoneâs table. Ew. Even the restrooms were a mess. The last stall I tried was the only one with toilet paper and it was a small roll. The same host that seated us used the restroom while I was in there and left without cleaning anything or washing her hands. Gross. The only thing good about this restaurant is the lovely Alice up front. That girl deserves better than to be representing a...
