Edit after owners response: Left 3 stars with this original review below. This reaction to a three-star review because your food is obviously a third more expensive than most dive bars around town, your response made me pull back two stars because you know what you don't need to get so personal about it trying to tell me to come in and look at your books? Just look at the restaurant right next door and see that I can get a burger with fries included for 13 bucks. It's not all that complicated you say you don't compare yourself to others around town well anybody that's going to come into your bar is going to do that when they're going to order some food unless they're just drunk and don't care and have a lot of money. I appreciate your long-winded response but actually I don't. You're charging almost more than boonshine brewery who has a fancy staff with exponential burgers that are way better than any dive bar including your own. The food you serve is not worth charging people $16 for a sandwich and then trying to charge them an extra $3for fries? Your food is no better than river street grill who as well will sell you sandwich with fires or tots for under $13. You're just a clicky expensive drive bar so slow down with your long winded response trying to tell me to come in and check your books. It's not that good and you're just expensive so no I'm not going to come in and sit down with you and look at your books I'm just a customer who will now not come back in because of your arrogant response so defensive about a three-star review. Good luck selling $19 plates in a dive bar when your food is mediocre. I'm done with this and your bar
My original 3 star review: Great atmosphere, love the LGBTI acceptance. But ... Your prices are a little out of control. $16 for a handheld with chips then another $2 for fries.. come on. That's a third more than any other dive bars around town. PBR even is twice as much as taproom next door. Y'all need to calm down with those prices but hey if your base keeps paying why not 😅 I'll only be back for special events not for food or...
Read moreAUGUST 2020 EDIT: We came back (surprise) and Lily's has 100% regained our trust and our business over the past 9 months through the service and food we first fell in love with and speaking with the management and owner (y'all are fab). Great food (and vegetarian/vegan options), creative drinks, quick & friendly service. They seem to be taking great care to safely serve customers during this pandemic and we've felt safe dining there on multiple occasions. Leaving my previous review below bc it did happen, BUT I take back that anywhere would be better than Lily's because they have returned to their former spot as my absolute favorite place in boone!
Left a review on yelp, but wanted to share here as well. It was our favorite place until we found hair all over our food. We had to return to the restaurant and they replaced the portion of the order we found food in (but not the rest of the order, nor did they offer a refund). Went back tonight, a month after the first incident hoping for good luck since everyone raves about it and found purple hair all over our food once again. We returned to get our food replaced AGAIN and were informed no one in the restaurant has purple hair? We didn’t open the box until we got home, meaning there was likely some random customers hair in our food or they have no idea who cooks in the back? We will not be returning for drinks or food here. Either the owners don’t care about their food safety accreditation or their employees don’t follow food safety measures. Never found hair in my food at any other establishment in Boone, you would be better off going anywhere other...
Read moreExtremely good food. Very accommodating bartender for those that drink and those that don't and want something different. The staff is attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is without a doubt all inclusive even though it may look like all "cool kids" or "alternatives" at first glance to someone that may not find it their scene. Very pro compassion vibes. The flavors were amazing and I loved seeing so many vegetarian options. Unfortunately, we didn't get tons of pics because we were so eager to try everything. The stickers on the door might be off putting to some but the general vibe was chill consideration for all. Great option for a late night snack when you want to feel like your eating junk food, but really sneaking some healthier options in. We also had the sweet potato fries not shown and they were the best flavor/consistency/temp/bake/flavor I have had yet. EDIT IN RESPONSE TO REPLY: I personally did not find anything vulgar with any of the stickers. I was trying to convey that nowadays some people have very strong opinions about certain things and not every one will always agree for their own personal reasons. I was trying to convey that the establishment seems all inclusive as long as there is not any hate or ill will to each other. Any "issues" with certain stickers I believe would stem from the condition of one's own heart or experiences and should not be anything that reflects negatively on the establishment. =) Hope this...
