So Causeway has delicious food, like period. BUT let me tell you about the cornbread for a second. Cause maybe if I write it out it will stop consuming my brain. Let me first start off by telling you, I didn’t even have cornbread with my meal. I got steak tips, which are always delicious here as well as the mashed, and broccoli. You know who did have cornbread with his meal? My husband. He got the brisket plate which he also says was delicious. The first thing he said when the food came was “that’s MY cornbread” but because he loves me so much after he took a bite himself, and knowing my affinity for good cornbread, he broke off a small piece for me cause I “had to try it”. As soon as that tiny piece disappeared behind my lips, my eyes widened, and my entire face lit up. I could see him reluctantly breaking off another small piece, that I thought was for me… BUT it was for himself and handed me the rest!!! What a saint. So about the cornbread - it was so moist - like most places don’t even get that right - no Sahara desert here, just fluffy but sticky crumbs that didn’t make a mess all over the place. The sweetness - is it honey? Is it maple syrup? I don’t even know but it was the right amount of whatever sweetener it is - not TOO sweet and not NOT sweet - ya know what I mean? Then the top of the bread is the thinnest like almost crisp caramelized corn meal crust. The literal the Goldilocks of cornbread. Just perfect. If you are going to see the best teams ever (the B’s or the C’s of course - though I hear they bring Ravens in on Sundays 😳) make sure you stop at causeway to eat (and pregame if that’s your jam). Maybe get a tray of cornbread and bring it to me on your way out of the city.

A decent choice for classic pub and American fare. Stopped by for a quick breakfast/brunch while strolling around the West End on a late Saturday morning. Since Causeway is primarily a sports bar, I anticipated a basic diner-style meal. However, I was quite surprised to find that they put effort into the presentation and injected some fun twists into their menu. For our meal, we got the Steak + Egg Breakfast Burger, Cinnamon Swirl French Toast, and Sweet Chili Smoked Wings. The concept of croissant buns for the burger and cinnamon swirl bread for the French toast was appealing, but the execution was below average. Both the prime rib patty and the croissant bun were dry, and the scant amount of hollandaise sauce did little to improve the burger. Similarly, the French toast was also extremely dry, so we had to pour a generous amount of maple syrup to make it more edible. Thankfully, the wings were nice and moist, and they put just the right amount of sweet chili rub to add flavor without being overpowering. I probably wouldn't recommend Causeway for breakfast or brunch. However, if you're in the mood for simple pub fare, Causeway could still be a great choice, even on off-game days.

I was on a 24 hour travel and decided to come to this place for a good breakfast. So it seemed from the outside. As I came in and sat down to order I was advised they do not serve egg whites as an option for people who are allergic to regular eggs … so I decided to keep it simple and order “chicken bites” which tasted a little different then a normal chicken tender / bite but as the waitress brought my plate out she dropped chicken on the table and just left me with a “sorry”. She didn’t even bother to remove the chicken that fell off the plate. Personally I wouldn’t recommend. Not many alternative options if you’re allergic to anything. And the customer service wasn’t that great. They didn’t seem to care much.

My father and I ate here last night. Let me start off by talking about the service we received from our server. Our server was Shannon, and she was great and provided us with exceptional service. My father and I started with the smoked sweet chili wings appetizer and that was very good, but we were hoping our entrees would follow suit. Unfortunately, our entrees fell flat. My father had the brisket sandwich, and I had the brisket platter. The brisket was embarrassing, and it tasted like it was days old and it was hard as rock and smothered in BBQ sauce to mask the texture, but I could tell right away something was not right. The brisket platter meal does not state that it comes with BBQ sauce on top of it nor does it state it comes with a side of pickles. I told my father that we should send the meals back, but he did not want to make scene. On top of that the place was quite empty (No wait time) compared to other restaurants off Causeway Street just before a Bruins game. That was a tell-tale sign that something was wrong before we even walked in, and I was skeptical, but soon enough, my judgement was correct. I smoke meat as a hobby and brisket is one of my favorite cuts of meat to smoke on my Traeger Ironwood XL, I can assure you that the brisket that was served to us was over done and days old. Sadly, our server Shannon did not seem too surprised that we did not finish our meals as she did not say anything to us about our less than half empty plates, so I am assuming she sees this a lot. I think the establishment can be a great one especially seeing where it is located. I hope this message encourages Causeway Boston to take having the only smoker on the West End seriously. If your going to boast about it on your menu I would suggest trying to...

We had an awful experience at this bar. A large male employee named Brett with a dog approached me and my friends as we were sitting at the bar and asked us if we had complained about him, which we had not. He had his hands on either side of my chair and was leaning over me in an intimidating way as he questioned us about if we had complained about him. We asked him to leave us alone and he began to loudly yell at us and insult us about our appearances. He insulted my friend’s hair and told her that she looked orange from her fake tan. More disturbingly, he made religiously charged comments, telling my friend that Hitl er would like her because she had blonde hair and blue eyes. Earlier in the night, he had also made an unprompted comment to my other friend earlier about whether she was Jewish, which she is, making her extremely uncomfortable. As he was yelling at us, we repeatedly and calmly asked him to stop and to leave us alone, and he continued to escalate the situation and insult us. No one around us, including the other employees, intervened during this exchange, even though we were clearly uncomfortable. After he finally walked away, the bar tenders told us this man was an employee, that they couldn’t tell us his name, that other employees and patrons had complained about him, and that there had been other incidents in which he made inappropriate comments to patrons. They also offered to give us free drinks and refund us for our pizza. Lastly, we left the bar and were waiting for our Uber outside when the man came outside and started chasing after us and screaming as he ran by us. I hope that appropriate action is taken in response to this incident and...
