Delicious! A Hidden Gem in Boston's Italian Food Scene
Last night, I had the pleasure of dining at Gigi, a charming Italian restaurant tucked away in a beautiful neighborhood in Boston. From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The service was impeccable, thanks to our extremely attentive and knowledgeable server, Matthew (you were the best!)
Besides Matthew the food was truly a highlight of our evening. We began with a plate of Arancini, crispy on the outside and filled with a creamy deliciousness, laying on a plate of smoky tomato sauce mmnnn! It was the perfect appetizer to whet our appetites. For our main courses, I opted for the chicken Parm laid on that same smoky tomato sauce goodness, which was cooked to perfection and served with a side of pasta that was simply divine. My wife enjoyed the vodka pasta, which was rich and flavorful with a hint of sweetness from the basil.
One of the things that truly set Gigi apart was their handmade pasta. It was clear that the pasta was made with care and passion, resulting in a texture that was both tender and satisfying. My wife also enjoyed a spicy Italian margarita that was a perfect complement to her meal. She says this was one of the best cocktails she has had in a long time. It's was carefully crafted with love.
To finish off our meal, we couldn't resist indulging in the tiramisu. While it wasn't made in-house, it was still a delicious and creamy dessert that was the perfect ending to our meal.
Overall, our experience at Gigi was exceptional. The food was delicious, the service was outstanding, and the atmosphere was clean and inviting. If you're looking for a truly authentic Italian dining experience in Boston, I highly recommend giving Gigi a try. It's one of the best Italian restaurants I've had the pleasure of dining at...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHonestly, really beautiful place small but very nice. However, experience and service wasnāt exactly what I expected from such a nice restaurant. My friends and I planned an early dinner to end the week and catchup and we decided on this restaurant which received raving views from what I read online so I made sure to make my reservation ahead of time. It was our first time and hopefully there can be a second one although I doubt it. Food was good but it wasnāt really anything special and options were pretty limited. We donāt drink so I canāt comment on the wine/cocktail menu. Service was a 2,5/5 it just felt really rushed and uncomfortable. It was almost as if my table was a sort of singled out amongst the others and it was pretty unpleasant to be checked in on every 5 mins and being asked if we would like full plates of food we were clearly still consuming, removed from the table or boxed to go. At first employees were very welcoming and polite but in the end it felt as if they were distrusting of our ability to pay and glad to finally get rid of us. Maybe Iāll just have to give it another chance but that experience alone was a bit off putting. In the end my table did leave a tip despite it all but we werenāt sure if out waiter got it as he just walked off on us seeming too eager to get us to leave. Perhaps Iām overreacting, I understand it is a place of business and they need to keep things moving, this is only my own experience. Overall the place defiantly standout despite the small corner it is located on and seems like a great place to hold a special occasion definitely has that romantic feel. I just wish my experience couldāve aligned a bit more with what i...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe experience was so disappointing. We reserved a table for eight in advance for my husbands birthday.
Our server, Acresio, forgot several drink orders and also had gotten several orders incorrect. Everything seemed extremely rushed the whole time. We had to tell him to please wait on taking our entrees, so we could enjoy our time.
The worst part, my sister-in-law ordered a dish, mentioned her shellfish/nut allergy, yet the complete wrong dish was brought to her. She was then questioned as if it was her fault when telling Acresio that the dish was not what she ordered. No apology was given by him - extremely disappointing. We also made it clear that this was a birthday celebration, yet there was no mention of a dessert menu. We didnāt even bother to ask since we were so frustrated and rushed out the door.
When the check was brought, he made it a point to mention that they comped my dish by accident which happened to be āmore expensiveā instead of her dish.
**Great - except for the fact that we were charged for 9 entrees and there were only 8 of us at dinner. I only realized this just now, which Iām glad I took a picture of the receipt because I had a feeling this would happen.
All of this is extremely disappointing. Everyone, including my husband, was disappointed despite having looked forward to eating at Gigiās...
