While I enjoy the food from Greystone, the service I've received twice now has been abhorrent. I really enjoy supporting local businesses in my neighborhood but I have never had a good experience with the staff and I am not sure why. I would suggest two things to ownership. First, I would change how online ordering works and where it is picked up. The window outside is a complete mess half the time and having people wait with that line causes confusion on who has ordered or waiting. Second - the staff needs either to be under a manager or trained on customer service. I waited for an online order for 40 mins until a worker stopped to ask if I had been helped, and this is after I was told my sandwich was "coming up." The workers barely acknowledge you or will avoid eye contact entirely. I would suggest having someone just tending to food pickup/online orders. I was young and worked in the restaurant industry too, I get it, but those young women will look dead into your soul and then go about their day. I actually believe my sandwich had been sitting there for about 20 minutes before I was shown any attention, and I stood NEXT to the window. Reminding the workers that a little attention to the customers would go a long ways towards getting repeat customers. Maybe it's...

Clean and cool inside on a hot day. Line out the takeout/pickup window implied loyal clientele. Barista was sweet. I told her I came for the Sammie and something cold and she was happy to be of assistance. Not much seating so I ordered to go. Expect a slight wait for your food because itâs made fresher than fresh. Hands down best breakfast sandwich I have ever or will ever have. I feel like this is my peak. I expected toasted sourdough and a runny egg. I did not expect the fresh loaded arugula which was crisp and refreshing and not just there to say it was there. The tomato sliced perfectly. Not too thick to manage. Not too thin to provide the needed acid and sweetness. The sauce. I canât even say. The flavor burst that it provided to the perfectly cooked egg and all between two magically grilled pieces of the right amount of tangy sourdough. Iâm in heaven. I never even got to take a picture. My face is perma set in content. I canât eat any another breakfast sandwich again. Iâm broken. Oh and my chai...
Read moreDefinitely one of the best cafes in Boston, everything I have tried there is really delicious. My girlfriend and I probably get breakfast at Greystone 1-2 times a week. In fact, we loved it so much we brought my parents from out of town there this weekend for breakfast!
My father purchased a drink and an almond croissant, and in the hand off between him and the Greystone employee the almond croissant accidentally got fumbled to the ground. No one's fault really, just a miscommunication by both sides. My father immediately apologized and asked if he could get a replacement croissant. He was quickly told "No, you can purchase another if you'd like". A little taken aback, he said no thank you and we continued on our day with one less croissant than we paid for.
Considering it was just as much the Greystone employee's fault as my father's I found it fairly rude to not just replace the croissant. $4.50 is not going to break the bank and would've been a great example of good customer service. Now I don't think I can go back to Greystone without a sour taste about...
