The food was amazing , highly recommend the lobster ravioli and tiramisu . there’s not a full bar just 3 to 5 specialty drinks and a pretty good wine selection. The servers were very nice and attentive. Only issue was that we had reservations for 8:30 and we felt rushed from the minute we walked through the door, even though the place was not full. It’s a small place and very quaint and romantic, but the tables are way too close together. You can literally hear the next table’s conversation, and have to squeeze in between each other to get in and out or just to grab your purse. When we placed our drink and appetizer order, the waitress informed us that they usually take the appetizer and dinner order all at once, which seemed odd to me, but we complied. 10 minutes later our meatball appetizer came out and 10 min after that our dinner was delivered. It all felt a little rushed, but again that was fine. Halfway through our dinner , waiters are walking through with backpacks and saying goodbye to each other. Another waitress took out a laundry basket at a nearby table and started folding napkins. The icing on the cake was when we ordered our tiramisu dessert to split and two bites into it they brightened up the lights to let everyone know that they were ready to close. This place closes at 10pm and it was 9:20. There were about five other couples still eating so this was very rude and just ruined the vibe. This place had really good reviews for the food which I completely understand because I have no complaints there. Everything was fresh and very delicious. Put the atmosphere of rushing people in and out and the casualness of waiters, grabbing backpacks and belongings, ruined the atmosphere for us so we quickly finished our dessert and just left and headed to another local spot for after dinner drinks . I probably won’t be back but I recommended this place if you reserve for much earlier in the evening so that you don’t feel as...
Read moreI am genuinely so upset that I am here writing this review as I normally do not take the time to do so, however my experience at Isabella was so bad that I feel like I need to share. Though the food was decent, there were many things that went incredibly wrong with my visit. It was my friend's birthday and we went to dinner as a group of five. We had made a reservation for five, but they for some reason changed it to a reservation for six, this was not an issue until we go to the restaurant and they had given our table away to another group of people and we had to wait over 20 minutes to get seated. When we got seated one of our friends was talking about how she is a bit chilly, when a man I don't know if he was the manager or another server intruded on our conversation to tell her "its not even that cold"... We weren't talking to you sir...After this, we ordered food which was good. Our server came and checked on us only a couple times which was fine but chaos erupted when it came to the check. Our server told us that she applied automatic 20% gratuity to our check even though there were only five of us and their policy said that they only did that for parties six and up. We were okay with this and were going to pay, when the same man came back up to us and asked if we had any questions. We said no very clearly, and instead of walking away, he proceeded to tell us off and said things like "my server wasn't being rude you need to tip her" when we never accused our server of being rude. He also asked us "do you need me to do the math for you" We found this incredibly rude and insulting and he made us very uncomfortable. If you are a group of girls, I would suggest going somewhere else for drinks and dinner, unless you want to get mansplained to and harassed by...
Read moreDelicious Italian food in Boston’s North End “Little Italy”! We had the pleasure of dinning here in this charming restaurant tucked away in the maze of narrow streets in Boston’s oldest historical residential community. We had the chicken marsala (chicken breast with caramelized onions in a mushroom marsala wine sauce, served with mashed potatoes and grilled veggies) and the penne Italian sausage (Italian sausage sauteed in extra virgin olive oil with garlic, lemon, white wine on a bed of linguini noodles), all was cooked perfectly, tender and juicy. The veggies were cooked fresh and everything was served hot. The dinner bread was fresh and warm, served with olive oil, parmesan cheese (butter upon request). Beautifully decorated with white linen table cloths, a wall of various wines & rich woodwork everywhere you look. The servers were friendly, attentive, very eager to please all guests & answer any questions, with Italian accents. There are restrooms downstairs to freshen up in. The prices were affordable and dishes were worth so much more! We love Italian food and this was by far the BEST place we have eaten at! Upon arrival, you walk right into the dining room but we were quickly greeted by the host and seated right away. Only a block away from the lively and historically famous Hanover Street and just around the corner from Paul Revere’s house you’ll find this absolutely amazing place tucked under the red awning, you have to try (reservations are highly recommended &...
