Delicious ice cream. Don’t let the fact this is a chain fool you: this place is fantastic.
I tried the salted caramel and the cookie and cake batter. This is the definition of “feel good” ice cream.
The salted caramel was fantastic with just the perfect amount of sweetness. The cookie dough and cake batter pieces in the cake and batter ice cream were the perfect surprise with every spoonful of their vanilla ice cream. This is the perfect ice cream for a late Saturday night
What sets JP Licks apart in my opinion is that they’ve really nailed the texture of the ice cream. It’s perfectly cream, thick, and doesn’t melt instantly. They are also super generous with the fillings in the ice cream: almost all bites of the cookie and cake batter had a surprise!
Only thing which is missing for this to be a 5/5 would be for the ice cream to be a tiny bit less sweet in my opinion, but this is just personal preference. I know I’ll be coming back.
Definitely a great place to get ice cream in Boston. If you’re also on an ice cream tasting journey, definitely include this...
Read moreOn 7/25/2025 we stopped in around 1030pm after a Red Sox game. It was late but still very hot outside and we were walking quite a bit so we decided to treat our tortured children to an ice cream. The first thing I noticed is the friendliness of the staff. In particular the male employee, unfortunately did not get his name. He cheerfully greeted everyone with enthusiasm as he crafted their treats. One of my kids had a bowl of “brownie, brownie batter” ice cream with all kinds of toppings like M&Ms and Oreos. My other son had a waffle cone with 2 scoops of “brownie, brownie batter” ice cream. The kids said the ice cream was great. There was seating inside near the rear of the parlor as well as seating outside as well. They also appeared to have a public restroom in the back of the parlor. The shining star, in my opinion, was the fact that it was so late and busy and the staff was...
Read moreICE CREAM LOVERS BEWARE! DO NOT GET THIS FLAVOR! “Crunchy Peanut Butter w/ Chocolate Covered Pretzels” sounded fantastic but it's execution was very poor. As you can see from the photos there's neither peanut butter or chocolate covered pretzels, instead there's stale bits of plain pretzel, chocolate crumbs, and squishy peanuts in vanilla ice cream - and this was more than half of it already (regrettably) finished. Every bite was just a chewy, nondescript lie. As a first time customer, for almost $10, I was expecting a little more quality especially with so many high ratings. Perhaps I got a fluke but I do think the name needs some reworking...
