Manhattan Bagel & Coffee Co. — Restaurant in Boston

First visit wasn't the best....the service was friendly enough, thought I had to repeat things 2-3 times till they got it. I ordered an everytihng bagel, toasted, with veggie cream cheese on the side, and a hot earl grey tea.

When i got my order, i tried to go to the dining room side (around the back and on the other side of the stairs to the apartments above, and was told "the dining room is closed" (at 4:15pm). Don't know why that was, but I realy wanted a sit down break from work, and had to take my order to go, because the two window counter spaces were taken up.

So here are the + and -'s of this place:

Open later than both Tattee and Pavement (which inexplicably on a college campus close at 4pm) Decent array of baked goods and drinks, mostly done well based on the bagel (Pavement gets this order wrong half the time -- not a hard order either.)

veggie cream cheese seems to be the same as the vegggie cream cheese at Dunkins, wich means a little bitter and processed looking / tasting (vs the fresh veggies in Pavement's) The Everything Bagel didn't have much "everything" on the top, and none on the bottom. (Pavement and Jaho in the South End both serve much better bagels)

I'll try it again, but only because it's open later than the places i'd...

Be warned: the chairs are not stable! They wobble. I almost fell off.

I wish someone would warn you when you come in with a walker or a wheelchair or something. Never ever been to a place that has wobbly chairs, so it’s definitely not something I was expecting.

Very unique place with ramp access and very vibrant eccentric paintings lining the walls (and a sign asking you not to lean on the paintings, haha).

The bagels are yummy, the muffins are yummy, and they have Harney & Sons iced teas in the cooler (my favorite)!!!

They also have a wide range of vegan options, ice cream, pastries, and just a really vast-ranging menu (not many bagel shops have alfalfa sprouts for example).

No parking out front but side streets have limited parking.

The music is loud but fun.

You can order from a person or a machine, and there’s a bench with multi colored stools to sit on and eat ch the pigeons and people pass.

Decently affordable too. My bagel sandwich and muffin came to $10ish.

Be warned that the benches wobble!!!! I almost fell off. I’m sure it’s intentional and meant to be fun but for those of us who aren’t super stable it is dangerous. ...

The manager there is very rude, he cursed me out because I asked to use the rest room and he denied, Im a dasher whos been working in the community for 3 years, I have a medical problem, I cant hold my pee which I explain to him, still he refuses to let me use it, Ive been going to this place everyday since the day they open it came as a surprise to me the fact that I couldnt use the bathroom there. Wait it doesnt end there, Ive witnessed countless construction workers being allowed to use the restroom

The manager said"my service doesnt mean nothing to him" Im not a customer, I cant use the bathroom

I just wanna let the manager knows that even tho my service doesn't mean nothing to him, I am proud and happy to serve my community and if you coukd see my ratings it shows that they appreciate my service It hurts me on the day rhat I find out that my mother had cancer, is that same day I was denied the used of a public restroom...
