I recently visited Mumbai Spice, an Indian restaurant located in Boston, MA. While my experience at the restaurant had its positives, there were certain aspects that fell short of my expectations. Here's my honest 3-star review:
Food Quality: The food at Mumbai Spice was average. While some dishes were enjoyable and flavorful, there were others that didn't quite hit the mark. The flavors seemed to lack the authentic depth and complexity that I associate with Indian cuisine. While the dishes were decent, they didn't stand out compared to other Indian restaurants in the area.
Ambiance and Decor: The restaurant's ambiance and decor were adequate but nothing extraordinary. The interior lacked a unique or distinctive atmosphere that would have enhanced the dining experience. It felt somewhat generic and could benefit from some additional attention to create a more inviting and visually appealing setting.
Service: The service at Mumbai Spice was satisfactory but not exceptional. The staff members were polite and attentive, but there were instances where the service felt a bit slow or inattentive during busy periods. Improvements in promptness and attentiveness would enhance the overall dining experience.
Pricing: The pricing at Mumbai Spice was reasonable and in line with similar Indian restaurants in the area. However, considering the average food quality and overall experience, I would have expected slightly better value for money. It would be great to see more generous portion sizes or additional complimentary offerings to justify the pricing.
Menu Selection: Mumbai Spice offered a decent selection of dishes, covering a range of classic Indian cuisine. However, I found the menu to be somewhat limited, lacking the variety and uniqueness that could have set it apart from other Indian restaurants in Boston. It would be beneficial to expand the menu with more diverse and lesser-known regional specialties.
In conclusion, Mumbai Spice in Boston, MA, offers an average dining experience with room for improvement. While the food is generally decent, it doesn't stand out in terms of flavor and authenticity. With some attention to the ambiance, service, and menu selection, Mumbai Spice could elevate its dining experience and provide a more memorable and satisfying visit...

Read moreA place called 'Mumbai', that also serves 'indo chinese' food, which is a bit of a mix, with its predominant 'indian' food. I didn't fancy a curry, so went for one of the place's 'indo chinese' options, which included a list of rip off versions of the PF Changs chain. I didn't go for the best-selling PF Mongolian Beef or the orange sweet and sour chicken, but I went for something simply called 'Chilli', with the lamb option. The dish consisted of strips of lamb with the texture of a Laurel and Hardy/Charlie Chaplin old shoe (occasionally eaten on their flicks when they're hungry - which I was), a thick brown gravy, strips of peppers, garlic, and lots of, yes, chilli. It was a dish a five-year-old could make, and with the slightly crunchy, overcooked rice that came with it, it at least filled an empty tummy, washed down by a small ten bucks bottle of Indian Cobra, but made in the US. Not amazingly, for America, they were busy on an early Wednesday night, with plenty of food being picked up for delivery, and most of the tables occupied. If your partner brings you here for dinner, they either know nothing about Asian food and/or don't...
