Olga’s Kafé is this amazing little coffee shop hiding in plain sight. And by hiding, I mean it is busy a lot and hard to miss. The line was solid for over an hour, yet the patrons were chill and the staff was a well-oiled machine of efficiency and precision.
We were lucky enough to get there in between rushes, so we got a front-row seat to the hive of activity. Part of the magic was the ease of ordering and the competent, professional employees. There was no wasted motion as cup after cup was filled and served.
Customers were actually patient, despite the heavy volume. This helps immensely, as we all know how one bad apple can ruin the experience for both customers and employees. But everyone was super relaxed as they waited to be served.
Outside are some bistro tables and chairs so you can enjoy the view of a busy Boston street. Parking wasn’t bad, but you can get caught up in the traffic flow and end up a few blocks further away than you wanted to be.
Olga’s Kafé makes a prime cup of coffee, cappuccino, etc. Their food choices are very yummy, too. Pop by during your visit to Boston for a unique and...
Read moreOlga’s Kafe used to be in the financial district and I was a devotee for years (like walking 15 mins out of my way in Boston winters/being constantly late to my job to do so!) If you like flavored coffees, these are the best I’ve ever had and actually brewed with the flavor (i.e. no syrups or being half chocolate milk like some of the PS coffees).
Also saw some weird reviews about Olga being rude? Insane - she’s incredibly personable and I give it up to her for being the opposite of an absentee owner (she can almost certainly afford to not be there at 6-7am almost everyday, but by your 3rd visit she knows your order and name). You’re gonna be hard-pressed to find a more hands-on coffee shop owner, that’s engaged with her customer base and actually has stellar coffee. @Olga if you read this, so happy to see you found a new home, gotta make my way out to Southie because I haven’t had a better coffee since you left downtown!! Ignore...
Read moreI was excited to try this place as it is on my way to work. I finally decided to give it a try and invited some coworkers to order. Food and coffee were really good, the girl that took my order was very nice as well. However, the owner Olga is extremely RUDE and has a condescending attitude towards customers and staff. Food is good, but not good enough to accept/witnesses this type of behavior.
We work at a big organization in the community and we are always looking for small businesses to cater from or just to place big orders for staff. This one is definitely out of the list!
I personally really wanted to give it another try, but someone else just told me they had the same experience. So this is a "normal" behavior, and it is just not ok. If you don't care about being mistreated this is the right...
