Im sorry to say this but it looks like this location has run its course, and i would expect/ propose that they close at this specific address and move on. This place has always been busy and previously able to handle the crowds with quality food, and reasonable wait time and clean area and attentive staff. Unfortunately the last eight months have yielded multiple issues: to name a few, running out of multiple products: the last several visits have a soda fountain with multiple sections out, and a broken ice machine and warm flat soda. Additionally the ice tea is constantly out and when available, warm and not cold so the taste is not as good. Then despite no less than six or seven people working the front of house, and would presume the same working in the back an increase in wait times from reasonable 10 -15 minutes to 20-30 minutes, and it is often the case that items are missing or needed to be checked or orders not taking correctly despite repeating and increasing patience with cashiers, and occurring at multiple different times of days and evenings. Lastly, and most frustrating is the inconsistent hours: the website currently notes open until 10 pm, but upon arrival at 8pm tonight, the doors are locked and the lights are off and no notice is posted, which has now occurred four separate times. All of these point to one main item: lack of leadership, even above the store level, given the inability to handle main level operating expectations or support assistance which is disappointing given friendly image and advertising from the marketing and leadership team from the founders background. Will hope that the location opening in Back Bay can yield...
Read moreIn short, my experience was 1 star because my food was not ready until 1.5 hours after the stated pickup time.
We placed our order a week an advance using the Cane’s website. It was a large order, around $300. The stated pickup time was 5:30pm. When we arrived about 15 minutes before the pickup time, we were told that they were about 20 minutes behind on orders. At 6pm (30 minutes after our pickup time) we asked again- this time they said they were running about 30 minutes behind. This went on for over an hour; each time we asked for an update, they said they were a little further behind on orders (this was super bowl Sunday). All the while, Grubhub orders were being sent out of the kitchen on time and in-house orders were all ready in under an hour.
A little after 6:30, I asked what was going on. The manager stated that they had taken pre-orders with a 5:30pm pickup time for 2800 tenders, which is why they were so far behind. One would think that if they didn’t have the capacity for this many orders, they would have stated that they were sold out online and stopped taking orders; instead, they kept taking more and more orders despite being hours behind schedule. When another customer in the store raised that point, the staff ridiculed her.
I understand that the Super Bowl is a busy day for food orders, but there is no reason the store should have continued allowing customers to place orders when those of us who had ordered days ahead were still unable to be served.
My job requires me to order food for large events of 50-100 people on a regular basis, and I will never be using Cane’s again (especially the Boston location) after...
Read moreWas going to eat somewhere else but when I saw all the people in the window, I decided it was finally time to try (Raising) Cane's, for so many students recommended it. When you haven't eaten all day and just biked seven miles in the heat, Cane's slaps hard as Will Smith trying to take his manhood back by force at an award's show. I love the crinkle fries, which remind me of the microwaveable Ore-Ida french fries, that fattened me up as a child. The chicken itself is just alright when you compare it to that of Popeyes; it lacks that crispy breaded exterior, the ornate armor that covers the Popeye's breast, but the sauce is dope and unique to Cane's. Plus, it's over eighty degrees here and that Sweet Tea will hit your tongue like a ball bat. As the summer gets hotter, I may just keep coming here every week to stuff my face with the $11.69 lunch box (4 fingers, fries, texas toast, slaw, and a fountain drink). Make sure to keep refilling your bev till you're satisfied and then fill it up one more time for the road.
Second visit update: The quality and consistency of the food remain. However, I was trying to get on the Wifi, as I was told that every Cane's customer gets temporary Wifi access with their order, but the girl behind the counter told me they just use the BU Wifi, which I couldn't get on. I really wanted to watch College Football on the Ipad while I ate my Cane's, but I'll just have to keep that in...
