If tasty burger means really good burger then they are over promising just a bit. It's a "not so bad at midnight" burger. I'm in Boston for the weekend and needed to get food. Tasty Burger was open and just a 6 minute walk from my hotel. This is probably an awesome spot if you're drunk and just left a club or party. Places like this are necessary. I got a double cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, bacon, and pickles. The bacon was extra as expected (I think I paid $2 or 3 bucks for it). Charging for bacon is expected. What I didn't expect was 50 cent for BBQ sauce. No big deal but still a shocker. I also paid extra for a side of ranch for my fries and paid the upcharge for a combo. With all the extras, my double cheeseburger combo was $17.95. The wait for the burger was about 35 minutes. The ranch was missing, the fries were cold, and the coke was over-carbonated. It's 12:30am...I should have gone to sleep. The burger was ok. It reminded me of Jack in the Box except the bacon wasn't crispy. Anyway, I don't live in Boston but if I did and it was late and nothing else was open, I'd definitely eat here...
Read moreWe come to Back Bay Boston about once a month to volunteer and we are constantly looking for fast, delicious food options in the area. This is a pretty good bet, and we've been here a few times.
My go to is The Tasty Burger which comes with special sauce, cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion and pickle for $5.95 and my husband gets the Bacon Cheeseburger which comes with cheese, bacon, lettuce and tomato for the same price. These burgers are definitely on another level from fast food places, but not the best burger out there. I do find these burgers better than Shake Shack's, but it's very close!
You seat yourself and it's first come first serve. There are clean bathrooms in the establishment. There is a small bar, that will serve you (we haven't tried this yet). It is attached to Back Bay station which can be great for people watching if you enjoy that sort of thing.
While I don't think these are close to the best burgers in Boston, it is reasonable priced, good quality food in a timely manner (5-8 minute wait). A great option if taking the commuter rail or T and comes in handy when it's too cold out to...
Read moreOn 1/21/23 a friend and I ended our day trip to Boston stopping TB. Pressed for time this was not our first choice, but we only had 30 min. to eat before catching the train. Turns out there was just one gentleman on duty, waiting on the entire restaurant AND doing it well! He had four tables going when we arrived and within 20 minutes, he had three more parties that came in after we did. His knowledge of the menu, patience and calm disposition with everyone was a joy to watch. He literally ran from the bar to the tables, to the soda stand and back again. He even took a moment to engage a toddler without missing a beat. We tipped him very well and asked when another server was coming in to help. He replied that he was the only one on duty that night. Well, I hope he owns the place… or soon will. Burgers were on the small side, but absolutely delicious, bread was fresh, place...
