I really like this bakery for their sandwiches. Their baked goods are hit or miss. The walnut brownie was yummy. Chocolate chip cookies were just alright. The tiramisu was delish, and so you just have to choose and explore to find your favourites. One thing I would not order again is the french toast. I was horribly disappointed in it and needed maple syrup which they did not have. I did order it towards the latter part of the day, but sad wilted strawberries and wilted mint leaves with some brown bits was not appetising. I love the short rib grilled cheese sandwich and order it all the time. It has shredded beets in it- who would have guessed this flavour combo could be delish. I have ordered it at least 10 times in their various bakeries and it tastes the same every single time. Fresh mozzarella sandwich was decent but must get it toasted and tasted better when I added hot sauce! šŸ˜‚ Avocado tartine was tasty and their regular grilled cheese sandwich is a clear winner too. Cozy atmosphere, always busy but a great place to come and relax. This location is one of their bigger locations. I do wish they would come up with a vegetarian sandwich option. Instead I order the turkey avocado sandwich without the turkey but they refuse to add extra veggies. For 12 plus dollars after tax, I would think they could be a little more accommodating. Nevertheless, very happy with this place and highly recommend!!

I ordered a gluten-free halloumi breakfast sandwich with fried egg and their roasted pear, granola, and labneh bowl. The sandwich was sad; it was a tiny piece of halloumi (about an ounce), one slice of tomato, about a tablespoon of spinach. However, the over medium egg was exactly right; they get big props on the egg because most places struggle with timing for over medium. I tossed one piece of bread and folded the other around the sandwich contents, if that tells you anything. (See photo for reference.) Which is to say I was glad I got the roasted pear, granola, and labneh parfait, too. It was absolutely delicious. Next time, I will get extra pears, which is an option. They were just so yummy. Because I got takeaway, I have no comment on service. The atmosphere seemed great, though. It's a nice space. Clean design, bright, spacious. Because my reviews often focus on the availability of gluten-free items, I will mention that, while they have gluten-free options, I would not recommend them for people with Celiac disease. By their own admission/warning on their site, they do not have separate spaces, so there is a high risk of cross-contamination. As someone with a middling wheat allergy (not Celiac), I was able to eat there with no health consequences. If your intolerance or allergy is mild to middling, Tatte might be fine for you. YMMV based on a variety of circumstances.

I frequent this place a lot — I enjoy many of the items, one of my favorites is the meze breakfast on the weekend brunch menu. So hear this review out, because it’s coming from a frequent customer — and likely someone who will at least continue ordering cafe drinks.

The reason why I can’t give this particular Tatte location higher than 2 stars is due to the number of times I’ve found hair in food items on the weekend. My partner has had a similar experience independently! — which makes me think that is not uncommon. Each time I think about getting a full menu meal option to go, I have to weigh the odds of whether or not I’ll find hair in my food.

Note that this tends to happen when Tatte is busiest — during brunch hours on Saturday and Sunday. But still, I’d say I’ve ordered brunch to go there once a weekend for the past 2 months (so roughly 8 times) — and I suspect that ~3 times I’ve found hair in my food, and my partner found hair in her food twice during the same period.

In addition to the hair issue, when ordering during busy times — it’s a coin toss whether items will arrive with all accompaniments (e.g. the pepper dip for the above mentioned meze breakfast). I’ve had to walk back to location a few times to get the complete order ~ this is not so big a deal to me as finding hair in a dip or container.

While I really do enjoy the drinks and food, I think this is quite ridiculous — I can’t give this location a good rating because of it. There’s something off with the food prep / to go delivery prep routine — the quality clearly suffers during the weekend rush, very disappointing — considering brunch items are unavailable during the week.

Love the quality and atmosphere, no issues with drinks + pre-made items (the cortado is excellent, try the pear muesli in the fall/winter!) but the food prep quality during busy times has been...

This is probably my favorite Tatte shop out of all the ones in Boston. This location is extremely spacious (like VERY spacious) and great lighting for doing work here. One thing people might struggle with is parking, but I can only imagine what a nice walk it would be in the summer if people park further away.

I ordered their vanilla latte with almond milk and french toast. Their french toast is made with challah topped with ricotta goat cheese mousse, housemade raspberry jam, fresh strawberries, mint, and toasted sliced almonds. I've never had french toast like this, but it is easily my new favorite! Those who read my reviews will know that I LOVE when my french toast is made with challah and my love for raspberry anything is undeniable. This particular french toast is on a crunchier side, but it works with the mousse and raspberry jam - otherwise it will all just be mush. As expected, the portion was too big for me, but for $11 it is not bad at all!

The latte was amazing and I am convinced it tasted even better with the almond milk. The foam was perfect.

For thanksgiving, I ordered their cinnamon rolls and apple honey cake. Although I did not pick it up at this location (I picked it up in Brookline), I think it is worthy of putting in this review. Tatte did an amazing job with the apple honey cake and cinnamon rolls - my family and friends loved it. It was not too sweet, but certainly very flavorful. I will highly recommend going to Tatte for catering. I am already looking forward to their Thanksgiving catering menu for...
