My family & I visited this location on Dec. 18, 2023. We were specific with our dishes, & asked our server to PLEASE ensure our Edmame w/ extra pink sea salt arrived BEFORE our lunch. Our server repeated back our entire order before leaving our table. Under 5 minutes later my Chicken Ramen was brought to me. 10 minutes later my wife's lunch was brought to her. We were raised that it's impolite to start your meal until everyone had received there's, so we didn't touch our meals as they sat at our table. 20 minutes had passed since placing our order, & our daughter was still waiting for her meal. We also noticed a table sat after us received their ordered Edmame & we had not. 25 minutes since placing our order & a 2nd Chicken Ramen was brought to our table, when what our daughter ordered was their new special, Chicken Ramen WITH Gyoza. Our server tried to pawn it off to us & when we rejected it, he then went to the next table & offered it to those patrons, in which they accepted. We walked to the Host Table right after we saw that, met with a Mgr who then tried to convince us to wait for fresh dishes & packed to go! We were beyond frustrated at this point. This is not the first time such an experience has occurred to us, for over the past 9 years between their Prudential & Quincy Market locations, we've experienced similar unfavorable results. We don't understand why the Owners will not invest in P.O.S. system that will have the ability to register certain dishes requiring more time to prepare, having those go to the kitchen Screens first, & then have the faster dishes pop up once the dishes requiring more time are 50% through their preparation, allowing everyone's meals to arrive at the same time. The technology certainly exists to improve Wagamama's faults, but I'm convinced the American Owners (who I've met in the past) who are capitalizing on Japanese Culture & Cuisine, could care less. We will share our experiences w/ anyone we can, whenever it may make sense & will never return to Wagamama again! Good riddens! Try Toto...
Read moreMy husband and I have been wanting to try Wagamama for a while, and the perfect time presented itself after a challenging day with our 1 year old (parents definitely know those days). I called for take out for dinner as their online system wasn't working. I gave my order of 3 items to the woman. She took my name and phone number in case there was an issue. My husband arrived to pick up our dinner at the time she said it would be ready only to find out that one of the items I chose for my dinner wasn't available and they didn't bother calling to tell me. So my husband had to call me and ask what else I would like instead and then had to wait while they made it. They didn't offer anything for the major inconvenience/waste of time which was extremely disappointing. The food was very good and being that I'm a local homeowner, I definitely return to my favorite places but I will not return here because of the lack of customer service. They had my phone number for reasons just like this yet didn't think they needed to call, which leaves me to believe they don't think my time is valuable. Instead my poor husband had to wait around and because of that he didn't get home in time to help with bedtime for our daughter which created a hectic time for me. All of this could have been avoided if they just called me and let me change my order once they realized they didn't have the item or if they even knew when they were out of something when taking my order over the phone. I totally understand that things like this happen, but it's how you treat a customer after you make a mistake that affects them that matters the most. I spend my money where I feel valued and appreciated, and this place just...
Read moreFood was good, not phenomenal, still good. and service was good too. Not great but friendly. All the way until the bill came. The receipt came for about 63 dollars for 3 people. All got one meal and one non alcoholic beverage. The price was expected , and I also was mentally preparing to leave at least a 20% tip, though customary and kind, even though I didn’t have to technically. When the young woman who was a waitress and or hostess came and gave us the card reader to pay, the amount was automatically adjusted to $82 dollars without giving me the option to choose to tip or not, and the option to choose how much. The discrepancy between our bill on the receipt and how much I was forced to put on my card up front on the card reader was almost $20, (which is much more than a 20% tip.) Had I been paying enough attention in the moment, and not cared if I caused a scene getting abrupt and hasty trying to find the receipt to find the discrepancy, I would have confronted the situation and said set it back to our original total, the cost on the receipt, and you get NO tip. Idk if she thought she was pulling a fast one over us because she thought we were dumb, or because she thought we wouldn’t tip. I would have tipped generously had you charged us for what we were supposed to pay for, but when you assume and attempt to force someone is supposed to tip you, and the rate of the tip, you immediately lose all respect and don’t deserve a tip from us. I always do my best to tip servers even if they aren’t outgoing etc . There’s a difference between being stressed and being downright...
