I read the reviews before going there and the reviews did not lie about the drinks. First, let me start with the food. I had the burrito with plantains on the side. I turned it into a vegetarian option with just the rice and vegetables. It was amazing! But the avocado crema is very unnecessary. Unless you LOVE avocado you don't need that in a burrito. Second, the pina colada was a watered down milky concoction. I can understand the drink doesn't need to taste like rubbing alcohol but I felt like I was drinking an imitation coconut flavored substance with water mixed with a tasteless lime they throw in for decoration. When I explained to the waiter I wanted to switch to a virgin colada he said the manager would most likely not exchange the drink. The virgin colada is 5$. The regular colada is 13$ or 15$. This restaurant is a scam artist when it comes to watery alcohol beverages. And it wasn't just my drink that was watery. I also tried some of my friends' drinks as well and they were just as watered down. I really believe they put a minuscule amount of alcohol and then tell you, " It is in the beverage. It's just mixed in with all the flavors." Overall, their food is great but do not bother with any of the alcohol drinks. That is just a waste of money. The serve was nice. The waiter was patient with us since we were a large group. He did as amazing job. Except that lie he about the alcohol.

I was in town from Philadelphia with my husband for work looking for somewhere good to eat and who doesn’t love Mexican so after a quick Google search and then an Instagram search, we decided on Mija Cantina. After a very short walk from our hotel, the canopy Hilton we arrived. I did make a reservation online however, it was really not needed on a Monday night. It wasn’t too crowded. Upon arrival, we were immediately greeted and seated. I would first like to say our server Jose was amazing. He was very friendly, present and fast we couldn’t thank him enough. The food was amazing. Everything was good… I had a jalapeño margarita I think that’s what it was called 10 out of 10.. we had an appetizer of chili lime wings, 10 out of 10 my husband had three taco entrée of chicken Tinga, which I stole a bite of 10 out of 10!! I also had the three taco entrée of shrimp, Carnitas and steak again delicious!! Lastly, my street corn chefs kiss I love me some street corn! If I lived in Boston, I’d probably be there every weekend. I will definitely be back. Thank you for the experience.

I love this place. I have come several time with small group and big groups of friends. I’m in love of the decor. It’s perfect when it’s snowing in Boston and you get to see the snowy Faneuil Hall from the inside. They have good food. The menu is not that big, but it has good selections. There are very good cocktail as well. I even asked for a drink they didn’t have in the menu anymore and the bartender was nice enough to recreate it for me. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Bathrooms are clean, big, and they have big mirrors. The only thing I would love they keep is to go with the team of the restaurant and play all the Time Latin music. They are close to the T, but if you drive I’m sure you can find close parking although pricey.

I have very mixed feelings about this place, the food was pretty good but there were a lot of things that kinda ruined the experience. When we got there it was pretty busy and a lot of people were there so clearly it’s a hot place at Faneuil Hall. The food was decent, I’ve had better, bigger portions and for much cheaper (ie Maria’s Taqueria on Tremont street), the portions they were on the smaller size. I got a burrito with veggies and it was weird bc there were whole Brussel sprouts, not even cut up or anything just whole steamed Brussel sprouts. A little strange as it wasn’t cut up or anything. I was also frustrated as there was no way to add shrimp to the burrito even though it was on other parts of the menu. I was bummed but whatever. Feels like there should be more options for protein as opposed to chicken, beef or veggies. As stated it was the experience that really hurt it. It was a pretty bad experience, the service was just bad. When we get there, the person at the front seemed almost confused by us being there, she said “one moment” left, we waited and then looked at the tablet while talking to someone, not sure if she was new or what but something felt off about the interaction. Anyways, so we sit down and just minute or two after we sit down someone comes over and asks us what we want, and we said we still needed more time. Then we waited for a bit and then the server came and we ordered. After we had ordered, we realised that the server never asked us questions as far as specifications, which was really strange. For example, my partner ordered a margarita and it had salt on it, the server never asked when there were other options. How odd. Then again, for example, my burrito came with either fries or Plantains and then we just got fries even though we wanted plantains. Luckily we did get both, but the lack of attention just felt weird. It worked in our benefit of course just felt strange that we never got asked. The part that was really frustrating is that they opened up the door in the middle of eating for the outdoor seating right where my seat was. It was freezing! We never got a single warning or anything and just left the door open, not even closing it when no one was using it just leaving it wide open. It was really cold and so we just had to rush out and wolf down our food. Talk about one heck of a way to kick someone out. There could’ve been so many better ways to deal with it and it’s a shame they didn’t, could’ve...

Upon arrival at the host stand, my girlfriend and I stood there for about 5 min plus without even being acknowledged. The host and a couple servers came back and forth to the host stand multiple times completely ignoring us, not even a “I’m sorry, I’ll be right with you.” This was when we made the god awful mistake to stay standing at the host stand continuing to be ignoredFinally after about almost 10 min of waiting there we were finally asked how many “so enthusiastically” and brought to our table. Once sat down, we waited 20 min before anyone approached our table. No waters, nothing. At this point we were basically ready to get up and walk out, when we made our second mistake and decided to stay, yet again. Waited another few min and finally were brought waters, 20 min from the time we sat down to when our server first greeted us and brought over waters. No apologies for the wait, the restaurant at the time was only half full. There were plenty of open tables, so it’s not like they were slammed at which therefore I would completely understand for the slower service. At that point we had already had plenty of time to figure out what we wanted for drinks and food so we put our order in right away, afraid of having to wait even longer for our server to come back. Waited 40 min for our drinks and food to come out, which both food and drinks came out at the same time. The food was average at best, and I was missing part of my order (which I just let go). Our server was extremely un attentive throughout and quite honestly seemed lost. To top this experience off once I was finally able to track her down for my bill, she rang someone’s else’s card and gave me their bill. Then I had to track her down yet again for it to be fixed. Overall it was a miserable experience, slow and poor service all around. The host and a handful of the servers looked miserable, unfriendly and moved slower than a turtle stuck in the mud. It was defiantly disappointing for a place we were looking forward to trying out. Highly recommend staying away from here, go...

Went here after attending the Boston Pride Festival at Government Center not too far away. The drinks were weak and way overpriced - the bartender noticed our rainbows and group waiting to be served. All 3 bartenders at the time ignored us despite having money/cards out ready to order and pay. When no one else was looking for service, they finally tended to our order. Apparently you need 2 people present at the bar, even if your group is obviously at the high-top tables on the patio to order a pitcher of sangria...we ordered two pitchers of sangria and two separate glasses for a total of 7 people. She checked all of our IDs and charged our cards for the order.

She gave us 4 glasses to use for the pitchers but I told her we needed another glass for the group. She rudely snapped back that she already gave me 4 glasses and wouldn't give us a 5th glass claiming she hadn't just checked all IDs in the group. I pointed out to her asking who she needed to card...she took her time looking at all the people and randomly picked someone out who gladly came over to show her ID again. The bartender rolled her eyes and gave me another glass finally (after she already charged us over $120 total for the drinks).

The drinks were really weak and tasted like orange juice. The bartenders were completely unfriendly and biased and I would strongly recommend NOT going here and going to many of the other options nearby. DO NOT GO TO MIJA,...
