After reading blogs and reviews on Annie Sloan Chalk Paint I decided I would try it myself. Bloom on Charleston was the only store in the Las Vegas area that sells this paint. The store was a lot smaller than I had hoped with a very limited selection. I imagined the price for a full starter kit to be under $140 which I would have been fine with. I was incorrect! The starter kit with only two quarts of paint, two waxes, and two brushes was well over $200. I chose one color, bought both waxes and decided to buy brushes elsewhere. After arriving home I decided that the paint color I picked wasn't what would go best with my other furniture. I simply wanted to exchange it for a lighter color. I called and said that I know they do not accept returns but asked if I could exchange for a different color. The paint I bought had never been opened and was still in the box they provided me with. They said no. I tried to suggest other options and they said they do not return and they will not exchange. I found them to have unpleasant customer service via telephone. I don't see how simply exchanging a color would have been a big deal. They could have checked to see if it had been used before or not. I would recommend trying different chalk paints with more selection and a cheaper price. I wish I would have read more blogs before because there are a lot of things cheaper than Annie Sloan Chalk Paint that work just as well.
If you're going to Bloom to search their furniture/décor selection everything is WAY over priced. It's stuff you could find at a garage sale and redo yourself or order online.
Overall, I do not plan to return to this store. I would not recommend this store to others. I would recommend trying other brands similar before paying...
Read moreDuring my first adventure with chalk paint, and having decided to try a less pricey version of the paint and wax, I later happened upon the Henderson Bloom store. I found them after searching for Annie Sloan chalk paint / wax to replace the less-expensive name brand I'd purchased from a major hardware store. The Bloom store was adorable and the woman working inside was very helpful and friendly. She told me about the classes they offered for newbies like myself to have a better DIY experience when using Annie Sloan chalk paint/wax. She was very attentive, encouraging (and patient) with all of my questions, and I left feeling much more confident in my first-time chalk painting project. I'd definitely recommend this location to anyone looking for supportive guidance in...
Read moreWas in all 3 locations last week and found a piece for my dining room that I love! Was very encouraged and offered options in Boulder City by Bridget, offered creative solutions and willingness to call me if something came in later by Billy in Henderson and found just the right piece with Laura in Vegas --- even after measuring, measuring and remeasuring --- plus waiting for my husband to arrive to look at the two pieces I was torn between. After all of that, I even changed my mind on the color and Laura committed to getting it to me in a weeks time. As a small business I was pleasantly surprised to leave feeling cared about and a commitment to good service. Thank you letting my home decor...
