Fox Family Bakery — Restaurant in Boulder City

Food Sensitivities- Beware. I want to start by saying that I appreciate the hard work and passion that goes into running a small, local bakery. I’ve enjoyed stopping in and supporting this business in the past.

That said, I want to share an experience that’s important for others with severe food allergies. I have a serious nut allergy, and on a previous visit I was told certain items were safe and that a family member with similar allergies eats there without issues. Based on that, I felt okay purchasing and eating the items.

When I returned and spoke with the owner, she explained that everything in the bakery has a risk of cross-contamination, and that it’s up to me whether or not I choose to eat there. I respect that it’s ultimately my decision, but I believe it’s also important for food service businesses to clearly and confidently communicate when something is unsafe for allergy-sensitive customers. Saying “I want you to eat here, but everything could have nuts in it” sends a mixed message that could be dangerous.

I can't say enough good things about the Fox Bakery. They have such tasty things to purchase in-store all the way from cookies to bread and even savory options like soups and spreads. We've tried a bunch of things and are always impressed with the flavors and quality.

We also chose to have my baby shower cake made at the bakery and I'm SO GLAD we did - they severely exceeded expectations and blew us away with the cake the day of. Everyone kept raving about the details and how perfect it captured the woodland theme of the day for our little boy's arrival. The flavors, omg sooo good. I still can't believe how the baker took our theme and ideas and totally brought it to life - but so much better.

I love this bakery! I haven't had anything from Fox's that I didn't love. I get the low carb bagels every time, and they usually have a savory dip that I eat with the bagels.
