My bestfriends and I have been coming to Pit Stop for the past few years. The service is usually phenomenal and welcoming. Lately the service has been not so pleasant. The majority of the waitresses come off unwelcoming and angry. Today my friend and I were killing for Pit Stop. It was pretty busy when we arrived and expected to wait for service, understandably. Our first waitress was great, she was happy and bubbly; what we expect when we stop in. She must have reached the end of her shift because she was MIA for the rest of our meal. The last interaction my friend and I had with an employee was when we received our food. At this point in our visit we were one of 3 tables. We were not asked if we would like a refill and when I attempted to ask for a refill I was ignored. My friend and I were finished with our meal and once we finish we like to stack our baskets together with all if our trash on top, making it easier for the girls. We sat at our table for about 5 minutes as waitresses looked at our table and did not acknowledge us. I was curious to see if I hardcore stared at the waitresses they would feel it and offer us our check. Nothing. We were going to just throw a 20 down, but realized that the waitress that would pick up our table would get a $5 tip that they did not earn. My friend took the money and stood by the cash register while 3 waitresses walked by and ignored my friend. She attempted to get their attention, but like the rest of our experience it was as if we were not there. Moral of this story, if your waitress doesnt do her job, you get a free meal. So thank you waitresses...
Read moreI think I'll pass. While the food is good, their process seems unreliable. The first time I ate here was with a coworker who sang their praises. So, haven't a persistent craving for pastrami, I ordered their hot stack pastrami. It was during COVID, so we picked it up as drive-thru. It was gross!
Barely enough meat to fill a 1/2 cup measure, the bread was soaked through with grease and mustard. Many months later, my boss had ordered from them and had leftover fried zucchini. She gave it me, and it was awesome!!! Really, really good, although the ranch sauce was super thin, like they're really cheap and water it down.
Given that, I still never went back until same boss was placing an order and, having looked at the menu, decided to try their pastrami on rye--different from the hot stack. Apparently, two different pastrami sandwiches are more than they can take, because I got the same sandwich sopping with grease I got over a year before! I know my boss ordered it correctly based on their published menu. Maybe they serve both sandwiches the exact same way, but that doesn't seem to jive with having to sandwiches listed. Maybe they're incompetent? I don't know. All I can say is that AT LEAST this one had more meat on it. That was the only difference.
I'm not going to eat at this place again. I'll tell you that. Nope! Not me. The fried zucchini is great (if you get ranch dip that isn't watered into oblivion), but I have nothing good to say about the rest of the menu and/or the ability of the staff...
Read moreI worship this restaurant. What gets me through my week is merely the possibility of the spare time to stop here and snarf down a hot turkey stack. Every special occasion I can think of, preferably after I get done with a long day of outdoor activities, I arrive to this restaurant, starving, and am always pleasantly greeted before finding a seat at this humble place of beauty. Each time I come, someone very sweet takes my order which is usually a hot turkey stack and some fries. It takes about ten minutes for the food to reach the table, presumably while they infuse love and goodness into the food. The food itself is tremendous, the hot turkey stack I always get is sauced well on sourdough bread toasted perfectly, and the turkey they use is high quality and thick cut. The sandwich comes out buttery, crisp, and a bit dry, which makes it perfect for the incredible housemade fry sauce they have, which I always inhale at the behest of my reputation to my girlfriend as a genuine sauce fiend. The fries are thin cut and nostalgic, deserving of their own gold medal. The grilled cheese with havarti they have is also incredible, and only like 5 bucks. Everything is priced cheap and worth beyond every penny. Every time I go to this place I have genuinely one of the best meal experiences of my life. Everyone who works here is an angel doing life changing things. This is my favorite...
