Sundown Saloon — Restaurant in Boulder

I am from British Columbia, Canada. Last Night I was part of a wedding party that was barhopping in the area, the drinks were flowing and the tunes were good, good times were being had....... until the "Downer". Now I can understand a certain level of strictness when it comes to verifying a persons age; all the power to bouncers trying to do their job in that department;..... but I am 24 years old. I had 3 pieces of government issued I'D, and multiple cards with my name clearly stated on them to back up the fact that I am who I proclaim to be..... but nonetheless I was rebuffed and told that my I'd wasn't good enough for them, that I needed to show them my passport to gain entry...... When I questioned the bouncer further about this I was told that my I'd isn't good enough for them as it isn't American issue. so any Canadian friends, BEWARE, the bouncers here would rather let in a throng of underage girls who have I'd that at least has the same hair colour as them, than let in a legal of age citizen from...

This bar anywhere else would be somewhere between "average" and run-of-the-mill." Not a horrible spot, though customer service seems to be a spotty issue, if the reviews hold up. It touts itself as a dive, but this is not a dive - they still keep the music loud, the crowd select, and the glasses clean, and I'm pretty sure I'd get kicked out for ordering a pizza to the bar. This bar is just kind of average for any place. Still, with the competition that exists in Boulder, "average" doesn't cut it. They're not quite bad enough to be bailed out by "Bar Rescue," which is unfortunate since a better sense of direction and identity would go a long way to make the Sundowner stand out as...

If I could give this bar 0 STARS I would!!!! This bar is the most horrible, smelly, and noninclusive bar in the entierty of Boulder. I am a male identifying individual and I was kicked out of this bar simply for using the mens bathroom stall to pee. Although I may not look traditionally masculine my rights are still valid. The fact that I was kicked out of a bar in 2025 for simply using the bathroom that corresponds with my gender identity is absurd and not acceptable.
