We love Indian food and look for great places across the Metro area. I wanted to give it 2.5 stars. The staff were friendly and the place was clean. We at here March 2022. It was very cold inside which made it uncomfortable. We felt there was a lack of seasoning with all the food. I usually Love Korma but I found their version bland and not a good flavor. The tiki Masala was better but still bland. The Naan was very thick and sweet tasting. We also had tandoori which was OK. The chicken biryiani ( spelling) was good, still not a lot of flavor but the chicken was tender. Some was served in small metal dishes and the rice was served in take out boxes that resembles Chinese take out so the presentation was a bit off. The Chai is pre-made and is already sweet which I prefer non sweet Chai so that was a bummer as I love Chai! We fed 7 people for just under $150. It was a decent price but that wasn't including expensive drinks. For drinks we only ordered one beer and 2 Chai. We still had some food left over but partly because we didn't care for it.
IN RESPONSE TO THE OWNERS REPLY: We were not there long ago, we were there March of 2022. It is unfortunate that you take the stance that you do and to assume I have never been to or lived in the "subcontinent " shows limitations on your end. I simply was giving my version of how we felt about the food nothing more and nothing less. It was not a personal attack, nor am I "weaponizing" my review to destroy local business- I try to give fair feedback to all places I visit. I am glad you survived the pandemic and I hope you continue to stay in business for those that may enjoy this style of cooking. I simply gave a review based on my taste buds which I have acquired through my life, broad travels and living situations. I wish your business well and hope you can accept feedback...
Read moreOne of the worst indian restaurants, disgraceful benghan bartha, cardboard, once frozen naan. GO TO TAJ MAHAL LOUISVILLE INSTEAD. Benghan Looked and tasted like oily runny kofta curry and didnt seem like eggplant was baked or tandoorid. I ordered 10 spice and an employee said she tasted my batch and it wasnt spicy at all and suggested i add chili which just made it all taste like spicy garbage chilli juice. It took 45 minutes and honestly seemed like a buffet batch. The manager even mentioned while I was waiting that I should let them know if I had any issues, and when I called I was told the manager would return my call when she's in which she still hasn't. My number is 1800-LOL-IM NEVER COMING BACK. Don't know if the positive reviews are bots, fake accounts, friends, or people who don't know good indian food, but I'll tell you, everything down to the lack of ac in the place was a below mediocre experience. I don't usually try to deter people from trying a new place, but let me be blunt, you reallllllllllllly shouldn't eat here if you want to enjoy your food and...
Read moreLunch at The Taj was the perfect way to top off after tackling the west trailhead of Green Mountain. Two of us worked up a righteous hunger and the buffet at The Taj satisfied our hunger and need for good Indian cuisine.
The lunch buffet had a large offering of delicious food - too many to detail as a matter of fact. I tried a little of many that were known to me and some I had never tried before. Everything was fantastic.
Even though it was a buffet we had fast and courteous service for anything we wanted. A trip for seconds triggered an immediate clearing of the first plate so we returned to essentially a fresh table.
Last, but certainly not least, there is a beautiful view of the flat irons out the west facing windows. I will definitely be returning to check out the...
