I wanted to love this bakery, I really did. But no matter how many chances I gave them, it was always a bad experience.
I had a wedding in November and attempted to get a hold of this bakery for 3 weeks so I could order an assortment of items. Every time I called or emailed, I would not get a return call or email back until I finally just asked for the owner's number.
From there, I thought things would get better. But I called several times after that to ask questions about my order, just to be told, "everything is fine." However, I called the day before my wedding and they had no idea what order I was talking about. Thankfully, I kept my invoice that I paid months prior so that they couldn't claim I didn't place an order (which is what they tried to tell me). After spending 40 minutes on the phone, they finally found it. Then, come to find out that when I sent my mother in law to pick it up the next day, they were nothing but rude to her and acted like they were put out due to the "last minute order." Which was no fault but their own.
Fast forward 2 months. I called the bakery and looked up their hours of operation to confirm that they open at 9 am on Saturdays. I planned an entire event around being able to pick up some treats at 9 am just to arrive at the bakery to a sign saying they are opening late that day to train new staff. In my experience, you don't delay opening to train new staff, your new staff comes in early to be trained. But either way, it was not communicated via phone when I called. A sign on the door is not sufficient.
On top of all of this, I made the mistake of referring some future brides to them, just to be told the same stories of terrible and rude communication. I know of at least 3 brides that have taken their business elsewhere because it's that bad.
Unfortunately, their quality of food doesn't negate their terrible service. I really hope that they get better communication and customer service skills in the future. But until then, I won't be returning and will warn my...
Read moreThe stuff they make there is delicious. However. They can't seem to get their shit together whenever there is a holiday or special order of any kind. My mom has been waiting in the online PICK UP line for 2 hours... In 30 degree weather. They do this every year. We stopped ordering from them for a few years, we tried again this year hoping it would be better. They NEVER have your order ready. Even when you placed it months in advance. You should be able to pick it up and GO. not WAIT IN LINE FOR THE PIES TO BAKE. seriously. We will be baking our own from now on.
update* my mom sent in a text review to give them feedback on their services. She told them she had to wait in a block Long line in the cold for 2 hours. Which was true. She has a brace on her knee from severe arthritis. She told them she would not be buying from them again. THIS IS THEIR RESPONSE!!!
We’ve issued you a refund. We did our best. We’ll make a note of your name & information and make sure we don’t serve you again or allow any purchases from you again. Happy Thanksgiving!!!
So, because she called you out on your unpreparedness and bad customer service, she gets banned from the shop? For providing feedback that YOU asked her to provide? A business should have the backbone to take criticism from its customers to improve its services. She wasn't even rude, she told the truth. This is unprofessional beyond belief and incredibly childish for a business to respond that way. They went from 0-100 real quick. Like a teenager throwing an emotionally constipated tantrum. I have second hand...
Read moreMy husband and I have had a lot of experience with this shop, and even, a year ago today, had a gluten free cake made for our wedding that was beautiful. It was a rose and chocolate cake and it tasted absolutely wonderful. This year for our anniversary we decided to get a small four inch, three tier cake with the top and bottom layer as rose, and the middle that was chocolate. However, when we picked it up, the top and bottom layer were very white compared to how they looked last time and fid taste a little different. So we were not upset and just decided to call and asked. The first person we called was kind, but was very distracted, which makes sense because the store sounded busy, so no complaints there and she was able to pass on our information to the manager that made the cake. Five minutes later the manager called and before we even had a chance to speak, she was the rudest person with the biggest attitude that I have experienced in a long time. This continued for the entire call. We were exceedingly polite and explained that we thought maybe we got vanilla instead of rose. Age then went on about how she made it, and it was impossible that it could be anything different and she tried it and it tasted like rose to HER. If it has rose, I do believe it had maybe a lot less than it did last year, which was a little disappointing, but honestly the most ridiculous was the attitude she put forth for no reason. We were happy to wait to hear from her until she was back at work, and were not frustrated, but that was completely unprofessional and...
