Charleys Cheesesteaks and Wings — Restaurant in Bowie

I'm originally from Philly and grew up on Cheesesteaks (when cheese was just another condiment in the 1950s).

As I moved around the country, I could never find a cheesesteak that even came close to the worst shop on Philly. In fact, most people as late as the 1980s who lived in cities outside of the Delaware Valley, never heard of a Cheesesteak or tasted one.

As a result, I stopped ordering so-called " Philly Cheesesteaks" (when in Philly you don't have to say Philly, Lol).

OK, now that I credentialed myself, the review.

I was driving through the Bowie Town Center, in Bowie, MD and noticed this new restaurant named Charley's Cheesesteaks. After my ho hum another wannabe cheesesteak shop, I read that if I signed up for their app, I would get an immediate $5 discount.

I love a discount so I took the bait. To my surprise, they knew what they were doing

I love mushrooms and fried onions (not sauteed) along with mayo, ketchup and pickles ( to each their own). It was one of the best cheesesteaks I've found outside of Philly.

I later found out it was a chain but I was unfazed by that fact. It was like when I saw 5 guys grow from one store to nationwide. If the food is good, ( not healthy good, but tasty good), word will spread.

I'm spreading the word.

Was so excited about this place opening closer to home, and went with my boyfriend to get some food...the food was great BUT we waited almost 2 hrs to receive it. Our order was skipped, and it wasn’t until one of the employees up front recognized how long we had been there and she told those making the food that they had skipped over our order. The man and young woman on the grill were SUPER slow at getting subs out. The man looked confused as he was reading orders on the monitor and kept messing up the orders. The young girl had to keep throwing out perfectly good philly steak and chicken bc orders kept being messed up. The manager did absolutely nothing to help speed up and facilitate the process. All she did was stare at them, even after the young lady on the grill expressed her frustration about her grillmate who clearly was not making the job any easier. I was very upset about how long our food took, there were so many employees just standing around looking confused. This place needs to do better or I can’t see it succeeding here at all. I so badly wanted to just get a refund and leave, but I couldn’t help but feel bad for all those employees who are clearly just under bad management and looked as though they needed...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Charlie's Steak Cheese, and it was an outstanding experience! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by a friendly staff who made me feel right at home.

I decided to try their famous cheesesteak, and it truly lived up to the hype! The steak was perfectly seasoned and cooked to juicy perfection. The bread was fresh and toasted just right, providing the perfect vessel for all that deliciousness. I opted for the grilled onions and peppers, which added a fantastic flavor and texture to the sandwich.

The menu offers a great variety of options, including different types of cheeses and toppings, so there’s something for everyone. I also appreciated the generous portion sizes—definitely worth every penny!

The atmosphere was casual and inviting, making it a great spot to enjoy a meal with friends or family. Plus, the quick service meant I didn’t have to wait long to dig into my food.

Overall, my experience at Charlie's Steak Cheese was fantastic. If you’re looking for a delicious cheesesteak, this is the place to go! I can’t wait to return and try more of their...
