I came to Mac Pho excited to find a good Vietnamese spot close to home, especially for some comforting, flavorful pho. What I got instead was a complete disappointment from start to finish.
Let’s talk about the service first. I was seated and handed a menu. I sat there for 5–7 minutes — not a big deal — but I already knew what I wanted within the first couple minutes. Then, a man walks in 5–10 minutes after me and gets greeted and served immediately. Meanwhile, I'm still sitting there like a ghost. I was this close to leaving, but decided to give them a chance.
Eventually, the server comes to me — no apology, no urgency — and I order: fire rocket shrimp, summer rolls, and shrimp pho. The apps came out in about 10 minutes. The summer rolls? Not what I’m used to. They lacked flavor, and the peanut sauce was just... there. The shrimp didn’t wow me. Everything was just "okay" at best.
Then came the disaster: the pho. Not only did it come out at the same time as the couple who came in and ordered after me (strike two), but the quality? Trash. The noodles were all stuck together in a clump, the broth had a weird, off-putting taste I still can’t describe, and the shrimp? Just no.
And the worst part? I didn’t even finish it. After two or three bites, I pushed the bowl away. It went back to the kitchen almost exactly how they brought it out — untouched. That’s how bad it was. And no one asked if anything was wrong or cared to check in.
I left frustrated, unsatisfied, and still craving real pho. If you're a true pho lover, please do yourself a favor and skip Mac Pho. Everything about this place was off — from the service to the food....
Read moreFor the first time in my life I learned what it felt like to be a mouse stuck on a glue mouse trap. The floors in this establishment were filthy and dirty. You could see the dirt at the entry of the threshold. I then ordered my food for my family for which the owner said the Thai drinks were free. We received two appetizers and one out of four meals that we ordered.
Then sitting for approximately 50 minutes without water, utensils or napkins. After waiting so long we told them to have my food to go. While noticing a line of Uber Eats people lining up pretty angry also waiting on orders. Today I learned what it was like to eat with my hands.
The real slap on in the face was when I received a $200 bill for two adults and two children under 6 years old. After looking at the bill the FREE drinks were no longer free which is also listed on their menu that cost $30.00. Next was the mandatory gratuity for $30.00 because I had a party of 4 she said. She also kept pushing for me to get egg wit the dishes to. charge $6 to each dish now i see why I had an a large bill and almost forcing three appetizers. She also said I don't have to tip because she ripped me off I guess.
Never again this was a very awful place and I wish I had never given them a chance. If you are looking for a place to eat this is certainly not the place. I also believe any positive...
Read moreI picked up chicken pho. I specifically asked for chili oil (always need a lil kick) and immediately wished I hadn’t. I added the oil to my pho, went in for a bite, and my stomach immediately turned. I wished the smell had hit my nose before I ate it. The chili oil was spoiled with a horrendous taste and smell and sediment at the bottom. I removed scoops of the oil and salvaged what I could, still wanting to give the bowl chance (especially because I live close by and have had generally ok/good experiences before they changed management). Unfortunately the noodles were stuck together, the broth was tasteless, and the chicken was dry and tasteless. I actually went back an hour later and they gave me a cash refund. If you’re craving something with broth and noodles I recommend just going a few doors down to Sakura Ramen. I know it’s not the same dish but it’s better than...
