Excellent experience, I've been to a few similar shops when I was in Hawaii. They've got ramen, sides, etc. Fairly typical selection but the ones I tried were very well done. The staff was friendly and eager to make recommendations or to clarify things for my visiting relatives (who are not familiar with Japanese cuisine at all). I had mentioned trying similar places in Japan and Hawaii and they were eager to get feedback on the spot for anything I noticed, but what I tried (takoyaki, karaage chicken, coconut thai curry ramen, miso soup) was spot on. Portions were fair and the prices were pretty good for what you get. The place was clean and cozy, with a nice vibe. The fried chicken was shatteringly crispy on the coating and tender inside, the takoyaki tasted exactly as I remembered it in HI at sushi spots, and the thai curry ramen hit all the notes of both thai curry and ramen. All the ramen toppings were cooked great, the chicken was tender, the bok choy was wilting but crisp, and the ajitama egg was jammy and very well cooked. Read moreThis is an amazing place to go to for a quiet and delicious dinner! I had never been here before but glad I did! We were greeted by Carlos, who was exceptionally kind, friendly, and helpful with the menu, which is large and has something for everyone. I asked for his recommendation of a special roll and his suggestion of the Dynamite Roll was spot on! There were small touches of free water with lemon and cucumber as well as free miso soup (which you never see). Those are the touches that make you feel like your being a guest in their establishment is appreciated. We had the steamed pork belly buns, spicy tuna roll, and the rainbow roll, all which were phenomenal. All members of the staff seemed more than willing to help and they cared about how the dinner was and our experience! Thanks again, Carlos! We...
Read moreWe originally had a reservation for 19, but our group grew to over 30 once we arrived (choir concert gathering), and Sakura accommodated us with ease. They set up four tables in our own section with ready-to-go chefs, which made everything feel organized and festive.
One of the tables had a bit of a wait for drinks, but once they arrived, the chef started right away. Everyone got their meals around the same time, and we all left full and happy.
If you’re coming with a group of 10 or more, I definitely recommend calling ahead, they’ll do their best to accommodate you, and we really appreciated how all the staff pitched in to take care of us.
This is officially my new favorite Sakura, the food was amazing. Pro tip: get the extra fried rice and...
