As a lover of bagels, I've often found myself exploring new places, seeking the perfect bagel. And let me tell you, my recent experience was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed not only by the atmosphere but by the exceptional service, the outstanding quality of the food, and the flawless management that kept everything running smoothly, even with a line of customers eager to get in. Walking into Brooklyn Water Bagel, I was immediately struck by the modern, yet welcoming vibe of the space. The décor is warm and inviting, and the layout is open and spacious, allowing you to see everything from the bagel-making process to the freshly brewed coffee. It was clear that this was a place that takes pride in both their food and their environment. The cleanliness of the restaurant was honestly unworldly. I’m someone who notices the little details, and I was impressed by the spotless floors, polished counters, and gleaming windows. The entire space had a sense of freshness that made it easy to relax and enjoy the experience without any concerns about cleanliness. The attention to hygiene and the overall maintenance of the restaurant gave me the impression that they truly care about the experience they provide to their customers. I was also pleased to see staff constantly wiping down surfaces and staying on top of the upkeep, which is something I always appreciate, especially when a place gets busy. Now, let’s talk about the service. It’s no surprise that a place like Brooklyn Water Bagel attracts a crowd, especially during peak hours, but what truly stood out to me was how efficiently the entire operation was handled. Even though there was a line of customers, the management team handled everything with a level of professionalism and organization that was remarkable. It’s also worth mentioning the beverages. They offer a selection of premium coffee drinks that pair perfectly with the bagels, and I was...
Read moreThis place has gone downhill. I’ve been going here for 5 years. I literally go here every morning but today was the last. The food is always excellent, the staff lately is horrible. From the two female mangers leaning on each other, talking about how sweaty they are, and randomly talking about other non work place conversations, all while customers are waiting to order. Not only that, but the conversations ALL the staff have should be on personal time. There is absolutely 0 professionalism. With EVERY single employee, I greet them “hi how are you” they literally stare at me and say nothing then ask if I’d like to leave a tip….. You do have to put on a smile or at least act happy at a job, I’m sorry but that’s a job. Leave personal issues at the door.
I’m paying for a 32 oz cup that is less than 24 oz for a LARGE ice coffee, and it’s $5. Absurd.
I had a coupon one day and asked them to use it, the cashier said it didn’t work, I asked for a manager and she said it didn’t work. They asked for me to just pay instead. I’m sorry but I’m not going to pay full price because they wouldn’t take the time to assess what THEIR computers problem is. I had a birthday reward from BROOKLYN? I was told to go home and “mess around with the app” and see if I could fix it. Such a joke. There’s been another older man (40-50s) manager in there every once in a while lately and I hope he’s a district manager making changes. He’s been stellar when I’ve received service or talked with him.
Funny enough I worked at this exact location in 2018, I know how well it use to be run and remember old managers/ coworkers. I’ve been here to see a completely new staff come in. It’s so disappointing...
Read moreWhen I arrived at lunch time, it was empty. That was a big surprise since its Brooklyn Bagels. I normally go to the one on Military. Amd Atlantic Avenue, which is always awesome. I tried to order and the person behind the counter started talking to me and then had me move over 2 spaces and do it all over again. I had to repeat my order several times just so they understood. I just wanted a plain sandwich. As they started making the sandwich. I noticed they were making it with wrong and I told her I want a plain sandwich, please. She said, no cheese, I said nothing. Meat and bread, please. And instead, they kept questioning me for other things to put on the sandwich. I knew this was not going be a good result. I also ordered 2 plain bagels and a blueberry muffin. Not hard for Brooklyn Bagels. I had feeling something was going wrong. I had to remind them again. I wanted a plain sandwich. There was no one else in the restaurant and it took forever to get the plain sandwich. When I finally got the sandwich home, the meat was bad. The breas was stale and it all had to be tossed in the garbage. A complete waste of $13. You could actually smell it through the bag that the meat was bad. Now, I know why Brooklyn Bagels on Congress and Gateway was completely empty. Something needs to be done there. They're serving bad meat. They have bad service, and they don't seem to care. The bagels were also stale and hard and had to be tossed. I will only go to the one a Military going forward. What a...
