3.5 stars for food and overall. I got the 3 meat combo, smoke chicken brisket ribs pork then later dino ribs( beef)corn bread pit beans Mac and chez , fries. Love BBQ the brisket was good when I sampled it from one of the owners working behind counter. That one melted in mouth the one I received (only one piece should have had at least two slices for price)was a little dry ( maybe a little to long in warmer ) but it was still okay the beans were awesome and the ribs are good with a Asian influence(almost like Chinese style little sweet was okay but ) the have Asian fried rice with brisket, was expecting like more of a southern type of rice and less sweet ribs but they had there touchon the food with an Asian flair. The rice was okay the Mac and chez was okay it needs to be jazzed up it tasted a little plan missing something maybe little pepper a little Lawry's seasoning would jazz it up kind of taste like the jazzed up box Mac and chez (Sorry) . The people where very friendly loved it but as I was in there a truck load of people came in and the got REALLY BUSY all of a sudden. And my order when it came out was missing items from my dine in and I order a to go plate that was also missing items. They did correct it when I brought it to there attention right away and was very friendly about it and I had a nice conversation with one of the owners about BBQ ing which is a passion of mine. It is a newopened restaurant so they still have some bugs to figure I things out . I can't wait to see and taste there burnt ends which they didn't have at time the beef rib was okay looked great. Only thing stop a 5 star was those little hiccups and there sauce work on that with there sides like offer some collard greens , to me with BBQ the sides have to be just as on point as the BBQ when your side aren't up to the level as the meats it makes your bbq ( even though it was good ) drop on points. Specially for the price (a little pricey) I don't mind spending if it worth it, right now it's not quite there yet. Over all I will be back to taste again, to see if they are going to make some changes Good job to this new place opening close to home for some...
Read moreThis South Shore BBQ spot is a hidden gem. I was reading quite a few negative reviews claiming âIâm from Texasâ or âIâm a chef,â and that Noah doesn't provide quality grub...but letâs be real: expecting true Texas BBQ in MA is like expecting bĂĄnh mĂŹ here to taste like it does in Vietnam. Of course itâs not exact â but this is the closest youâll get, and itâs damn good.
The brisket and pork belly burnt ends were crispy, juicy, and well-seasoned â borderline heavy on the salt, which slightly overpowered the BBQ sauce, but still delicious. Sides like mac & cheese, creamed corn, and potato salad were spot-on. I do wish they included jalapeños for a little kick, but the pickle spear, pickled onions, and soft bread were perfect complimentary adds.
Service was top-notch. The chef personally checked on us multiple times and even brought out extra meat straight off the smoker because he didnât think the first batch was good enough (we thought it was already excellent). Staff were helpful and went above and beyond to provide great service.
Given that they recently opened, they're definitely still ironing out some things (menu availability, consistency), but this place has serious potential. The ventilation for the smokers isn't so great so I'd suggest a good scrub down of the establishment on a regular basis to help with the grease build up and sticky floor feeling. But with that said, the atmosphere is cute and inviting.
Support your local gems â especially when theyâre serving up flavor like this and trying their best to deliver good food! And honestly, those Negative Nancy's should just not eat out in general if they're expecting a 5 course michelin star meal in a mall for less than the cost...
Read moreWell today is the third day that they've been open so I was told. This place is in the SouthShore Mall. Next to Davio's. This place is not a bargain it is extremely expensive for what you get. I wanted to order a two meat combo with one side which would have been $22. Till I was told it would be one rib and one piece of brisket. That nearly wasn't worth $22. They're spare ribs not baby back ribs so they are bigger. I decided to go with the half pound of ribs and a side of brisket fried rice. My first complaint is I went to miles before opening my takeout container at home and the food was barely warm. The food should have been hot not really warm after driving 2 miles. The ribs were very tender but didn't have much flavor. All you can taste with smoke and not much seasoning. The brisket fried rice was sticky rice. Not what I was expecting and again too strong of a flavor of smoke and not much anything else. Also I ordered a half pound of the ribs that 15.99 but they don't tell you or even mention it that if it's over a half pound you will be charged extra. Places like this I consider a bait and switch. Give the consumer all of the information and tell them if there's going to be an extra charge for anything. As a private chef and I ran my own catering company this food is not what I would call Southern barbecue. You can get a much better deal and better flavorful food at outback. I don't think they're going to be around long but the smokehouse does the exact same thing and it's also pricey but you get a better bang for your buck. This food was just mediocre at best and way too much money for two...
